And he called himself a giant as he was stomping on her snow castle
IMO that gives Martin a little wiggle room with how Littlefinger dies.

I like to think that Howland Reed isn't the only person that knows Lyanna was pregnant and gave birth. Or, at least, there might be others that have a notion of it. I mean, surely someone had to ask why 3 members of the Kingsguard, including the Lord Commander, stayed at the Tower of Joy long after Rhaegar and Aerys died
Someone else knows something, some one had to tell Ned where to find them. 7 knights from the North aren't just going to stumble on a tower in the Dorne hills.

Well it is in princes pass so u pretty much have to pass it to get into dorne

Here are people who I think *may* have known (Besides the obvious of Ned and Howland who definitely knew/know):
These are my most likely candidates:
-Benjen Stark (He was the closest to Lyanna out of all of his siblings and there's been Crackpot theories about why he took the black, especially since Brandon died and was no longer a 3rd son after that. He may have helped Lyanna run off with Rhaegar and once Ned came back to Winterfell he could've put two and two together/surmised that Jon was Lyanna's son. He knew how honorable Ned was. Benjen also told Jon not to join the Watch immediately and that he wasn't experienced enough. He never had sex with a women, no kids, etc. and wouldn't know how much he was truly giving up, which could have a double meaning in regards to his parentage.)
-Wylla (Edric Dayne knew he was a milk brother to Jon, but I think Wylla knew so that she could be in on the secret/know how to play her role in protecting Jon)
-Ashara Dayne and some other Daynes (they stopped in Starfall on the way back and Ashara may have known where Rhaegar and Lyanna were hiding out)
-Varys (I think this is less likely but some people think that Varys knows but IMO he never knew. I think he would've done something about it if it was going to interfere with his Aegon plot).
-Ser Barristan (Barristan told Dany that Rhaegar was 'fond' of Elia Martell but loved his Lady Lyanna. I still think this is less likely but Barristan knows a lot of shite.)
Characters who I think have or will have enough information to reach the R+L=J conclusion first and realize who Jon truly is:
-Jaime Lannister
-Ser Barristan (if he doesn't know already)
-Cersei Lannister
-Tyrion Lannister (Tyrion seems to connect things better than most characters/learn about things better)
-Samwell Tarly

“I looked for you on the Trident,” Ned said to them.
“We were not there,” Ser Gerold answered.
“Woe to the Usurper if we had been,” said Ser Oswell.
“When King's Landing fell, Ser Jaime slew your king with a golden sword, and I wondered where you were.”
“Far away,” Ser Gerold said, “or Aerys would yet sit the Iron Throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells.”
“I came down on Storm's End to lift the siege,” Ned told them, and the Lords Tyrell and Redwyne dipped their banners, and all their knights bent the knee to pledge us fealty. I was certain you would be among them.”
“Our knees do not bend easily,” said Ser Arthur Dayne.
“Ser Willem Darry is fled to Dragonstone, with your queen and Prince Viserys. I thought you might have sailed with him.”
“Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell.
“But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.”
“Then or now,” said Ser Arthur. He donned his helm.
“We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Gerold.
Ned’s wraiths moved up beside him, with shadow swords in hand. They were seven against three.
“And now it begins,” said Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. He unsheathed Dawn and held it with both hands. The blade was pale as milkglass, alive with light.
“No,” Ned said with sadness in his voice. “Now it ends."
Im not sure there was anything/much said between Rhaegar and Ned. I think he promised Lyanna he would keep Jon's heritage secret but thats pretty much the extent. Also, im not sure why Mad Aerys would send 3 of his best men to protect Rhaegars unborn child when he had children of his own to protect.

I think Barristan is too honorable to have known and still gone to follow Dany. If he knew Jon was the rightful king, he would have gone to him. I like your theory about Benjen and thinks it hold up well. Other than him though, I don't think any one really knew. I still have a hunch that Septa Lemore is Ashara Dayne. I think if she knew, it would effect things with YG.

It seems much too obvious and minor to be what the prophesy means.

I agree that Ser Barristan is honorable and perhaps he doesn't know, but I think he will eventually find out/has enough knowledge to put two and two together. I've been rewatching season 1 this week, and I've been catching onto things as a book reader that I never caught on to when I first watched the show as a Hodor. There was a scene when Cersei is talking to Joffrey and she asks him how he'd deal with the Northerners and he said that he'd double there taxes and if they rebel that he'd pick a new Warden of the North. I was thinking, "Oh shite. Like they did with Roose Bolton!" It was such a nerd moment . So many subtleties in the dialogue in the show that foreshadow so many things and can go unnoticed easily. There was also the scene with Jaime and Jon that I thought was very interesting and you can tell Jaime is thinking to himself that Jon doesn't know/understand the realness of serving in the Watch for life...I think Jon will encounter Jaime again, no doubt about it. Would love to see that conversation considering everything that has happened to Jaime since AGoT/season 1.

Robin was playing with some kind of rag doll as though it was the giant stomping on the snow castle. When Sansa grabbed the doll, it ripped apart. Robin screamed, "you killed him!" I think that's the prophecy of her "killing" the giant in the castle made of snow.

As I said, too obvious and too small of an event.

True, BUT, I think most of us believe that Sansa WILL kill Robert, probably with sweetsleep. There has quite a bit of foreshadowing on that, plus we've heard countless times that poison is a woman's weapon.

Possibly. I get what you're saying. It's hard to tell with Martin.

I wouldnt call that a small event at all tho. The snow castle is where LF kissed her, which led to Lysa being pushed oitt the moon door pretty directly

frick Martin, you should go ahead and finish the books for him. You already know what's going to happen anyway.

I wish I knew one of Martin's editors. Would get to find out how much of TWoW he's completed.
Do y'all think he has at least 50% completed?

I think it's closer to 75%. But I've always been more of an optimist

He didn't, he sent them to get Rhaegar. Rhaegar then order them to stay with her.

You'd think that Stewie would be an easy Tyrion though.
