Strangely enough, I just read The Ice Dragon last night and this morning. (Warning: Spoilers for that story ahead. if you plan to read it, might want to skip this post)
IIRC, an ice dragon is "half again" as big as a regular fire breathing dragon. (ie: 1.5 times the size). It blasts cold and ice instead of heat. The one in the story defeated 3 fire breathing dragons. Unfortunately, it was fighting 3 and the last one got it.
Also, the more frequently and longer the ice dragon hung around, the longer winter would last. (it was not explicitly stated but seemed like the winters were the regular one a year variety in that story but were getting longer).
No sure if Martin would use that exact type of dragon here though. It was pretty much actually made out of ice melted into a pool after it died. so I think they'd have to adjust that to make it a little more realistic if they decide to us them in SOI&F.

Have we discussed this Northern Conspiracy yet? It's fricking awesome. I am very intrigued by the Manderly's...
Not everything, just some of it. Some more Northern Conspiracy awesomeness...
Edmure Tully was one that signed Robb's Will. He had brief contact with the Blackfish before he escaped Riverrun, so it's likely Edmure told him about the Will. Riverrun's master of arm, Desmond Grell, and captain of guards, Robin Ryger decide to take the Black instead of leaving with other Riverrun men.
Two men did not choose to depart with the others. Ser Desmond Grell, Lord Hoster’s old master-at-arms, preferred to take the black. So did Ser Robin Ryger, Riverrun’s captain of guards. “This castle’s been my home for forty years,” said Grell. “You say I’m free to go, but where? I’m too old and too stout to make a hedge knight. But men are always welcome at the Wall.” (affc, p. 757)
There's also Tom o' Seven Strings from the BwB that was present when Jaime ended the siege, and I think is currently in Riverrun.

I think is safe to say that shell should stop lurking.

You can tell this is an epic show. I can't think of many others that inspire this much speculation and interest. Then the books on top of it all.. I mean wow, I am addicted to it.
That said, just started a storm of swords again..

I was adamant about not re-reading them. However, getting back into this thread, I just couldn't stop myself.

now that I can think of the "Rains of Castemere" it's easier to hear how eerie it is in your head when all that is going on.
Cat hears it and knows something is up. I hope we see the wolfs head cut off on Rob's body.
