he really pissed me off at the end of the article. gave us props then shoots at LSU by saying we are not the cleanest program in the country. almost left the impression that LSU is a rogue university that just happened to get it right on this one. a-hole.

He's right; we aren't the cleanest program in the country. I hate when people pull out the one offhand comment and let it ruin the rest of a very good article/story/post.

Still stupid to compare LSU and TM to the Penn St. situation in any way, shape, or form. Typical Glenn being dumb.

THIS. Takes a frickin' warped mind to even think of one when thinking of the other.

he wasnt comparing what TM did to what Jerry Sandusky did. he compared how LSU handles disciplining players and scandal to how PSU and Paterno did.

he mentions how the athletic department gives millions to the university and writes:

quote:

Surely, Miles or athletic director Joe Alleva could have been less subservient considering the power each could exert if they chose to, based on monetary gifts and overall success.

and says:

quote:

Maybe, this is what the late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno was thinking after becoming as powerful as Michael Corleone... Paterno gave millions of his own money for the Paterno Library. Maybe he thought this could help keep everything quiet about Jerry Sandusky. Maybe it helped keep many of his arrested players over the years in uniform on game day. Four in 2007 were “expelled” from summer classes but missed no games.. .

It's a reach, and a bad one. I see no reason at all to even mention Sandusky in an article about TM's situation.

And if you are a gump or a barner, that's a douche bag.
