Arrington: Surgery But Still Make the Roster?

Receiver Adrian Arrington's status is still unclear, though it sounds like he is headed for surgery at some point on his ailing knee. Vitt said Arrington will seek another opinion to follow up with last week's visit to Dr. James Andrews. Vitt did not specify what the current diagnosis is for Arrington, though the team had originally reported it as a meniscus injury.
It also sounds like the Saints expect Arrington to play this season. Vitt referred to Arrington's battle for a roster spot when he said, "In my heart I kinda know what he knows and I know what he can do. So with a guy like this, there's just a little bit of lee way, hes got some pelts that he's given to us."

That's a pretty strong vote of confidence from Vitt. Triplett is speculating on surgery but prolly more likely than not. So AA to the 53 even if dinged?
Another option is the new IR rule that teams make have one player on IR for 8 weeks, not count as a roster spot, then return. This still has to be approved by the NFLPA.

Well they know what they have in him. They know him better than anybody else competing for that roster spot other than Roby maybe.

Been trying to tell you fools he has the #4 spot on lock.

I'm guessing he'll go on the PUP then we can let him practice for a bit without adding him to the active roster or cutting him
Might be good for the team

This injury actually hurts pretty bad because Colston and Moore have been injury prone over the years, Dev is declining, and Toon and Morgan don't have any experience. Good thing we got Graham and 4 bad arse RBs!

He could go on the PUP list and be out for 6 weeks or possibly go on IR and make a comeback midseason if the new rule passes

Didn't we bet $1000 that at the START of the season he'll be starting there??? not going to happen my man HAHA EAT A DICK.. Toon will and he hasn't even played

Arrington isn't eligible for the PUP because he has practiced already.

quote:sorry to see he is injured again, but I don't know why people keep thinking he won't make the team again. He was having a great camp up until the injury. That's like folks calling for Henderson to be cut or traded because of recent drops, ain't gonna happen because the guy is too valuable to the Saints.
That's a pretty strong vote of confidence from Vitt.
and Roby is clearly No. 4 right now imo, the guy has improved tremendously.

Honestly if he isn't healthy to start the season I say we just count our losses. It's year 5 of waiting on Arrington. I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Probably because AA has had a good camp the past few years and when it came time for the games he has been horrible. Personally with as many chances as he has been given, I think he might have some naked pics of Benson or something like that.

I am a fan so I will post as a fan, not as a wanna be coach/gm
we've been waiting for this dude to come around for 5 years.....enough already, time to cut bait

exactly. We are deep at WR and always will be so no matter how much "promise" he has shown this offseason, if he's not healthy by the time the regular season starts, his arse is gone. Whoever thinks he's going to stay on the roster while INJURED, your out of your mind, waste of space.

yeah, I remember that... in his last year at Michigan we were all talking... "if we could just get this guy, he'll be worth waiting on"

glad someone has more insight than we common fans who have to speculate on what might happen

How the living hell does AA have "some pelts"?
We best not cut one of our RB's or Roby for this Onome Ojo All Star.

I disagree with this.

Nick Toon could be hot garbage. We won't know until he gets significant playing time just like AA who still hasn't.

you prolly know but some may not that Arrington has had the chance to go to other teams 53 man rosters more than once but declined and stayed on the PS here.
He's also been waived twice, likely with a wink and nod deal to return.
