Not one yet but I want to get into it when I have the money. I want to actually play them and not just collect. Assuming I'm not searching for the rarest vinyl's, how much do they usually cost?

There is such a wide array of possibilities with them. Can ne $5-100's. Discogs is a good website to check out and get an idea of pricing.

Appreciate it. I've always been fascinated with vinyls and the distinct sound they produce.

I've got a lot, lots of 70s - Earth Wind and Fire, Zep, Clapton, Skynyrd Creedence. And the entire Beatles catalog.

I also have a mint copy of Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" which was going for $3000 on ebay right after he died.

Booster Club issue of the Massillon Tiger Swing Band from the 70s. The sentimental value is pretty high.

Most new vinyl records are between $10-25.

My Mars Volta records are worth a pretty penny these days, even used. Same with my John Frusciante ones. Combined they are worth around $1000. Will I ever sell them? Probably not. But now, if I know a bands albums are limited and have a history of increasing a lot in price after they are out of print, I will buy an extra copy and keep it sealed. Profit.

I still have my Album collection of 500+ from the 70's and 80's. They have been boxed up since I moved 12 years ago along with my old Sansui Stereo and I will one day have it all back in working order............

The one album that is prolly prized, is the Skynyrd Street Survivors that was banned. That being the jacket with flames behind those that died in the plane crash. When they started touring again, they started in BR and I was able to see the band back stage after because I still had my un-used ticket for the crash show (which I still have). The band signed their names above their pic on the jacket.

I have been told that the original Heart Dreamboat Annie Album with the Mushroom on the label was a collector, which I own as well. I am curious to know what other collectables I may own..........

Rock On!!

Ive been on again, off again over the years... I never buy anything new on vinyl, but over the years I've gone back and picked up a lot of 80's stuff on vinyl... REM/Mats/Feelies/Elvis Costello, etc..

Good choice. I found this one at the Best Buy at Vets and I10 for the 6 months that they sold vinyl. I always thought this one would be perfect for vinyl.

Also, all about listening and not collecting.

My favorite is probably "Who's Next." Started listening to records in high school in the late 90s and was limitted to my dad's old ones (no internet). Turns out all the good ones were actually mom's. Dad's were all the Oak Ridge Boys and shite like that. Mom was the Who, Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, Simon and Garfunkel, etc. Dad's taste in music still sucks.

I have these framed on my wall, with albums inside. All originals bought by my dad right when they were released. I don't know how good that is but I'm proud of em. I don't have a large collection. I listen to all of my other ones. I have been jamming the shite out of "Yes"

Got all the old Beatles records from my dad.

On a side note- the reissue of Paul McCartney's "Ram" is great
