Somehow the settlement will not be what we hope it will be.

Read thread, exited thread, came back to thread to post this same thing. It's probably gonna be something like:
"NFL agrees to stop using the term pay-for-injury program and instead will use pay-for-performance exclusively."

Too bad for Payton that the coaches union has the power of a Canfield-led offense

NFL agrees to not suspend players again next season.

pay-for-performance
How would that be any different than incentive laden contracts?

Saints players wouldn't even begin to talk settlement unless suspensions would be reduced. The fact that they are RUMORED to be talking settlement means Goodell is offering to reduce them

If Goodell's even thinking about a settlement, its for a reason. I say frick him, see you in court.

If the option is for reduced suspensions take it right now, it's getting too close to the season to risk running it all the way into court imo.
I could see them throwing out everyone's suspension, but Vilma still doing 4-8 games however Idk if he would personally accept that

I'd accept:
1 game for Fujita, Smith, Hargrove
3 games for Vilma
Anything more I'm taking them to court

Wowzers.

Don't accept a suspension for something you didn't do. This shows the NFL's weakness, take them to court. They are scared

JV got him running
I wouldn't blame Vilma if he took that deal. He wants to get on the field.
But on principle, I want them to go to court. Dictator's caving for a reason.
