Do they have a league or do they pull a team together and pay the league money and then take this "select" dixie youth team to all stars. We played in the 14 yr old DY state championships a few years ago against a Monroe team and if I understood correctly this was how the team was comprised with most of the kids missing the cutoff to be too old by a month or so. The Monroe team had kids from several different schools from all around the area with most of the boys about to enter their soph season at their particular high school. Not to take anything away from the kids as they were a very good ball team but they definitely were not a typical DY All Star team.

I coach in the Monroe league and they all played in the league the entire time. Some used to play USSSA but, a couple of them decided to only play Dixie to win a world series. Looks like they are going for #2. They are a great group of guys for sure. I haven't heard but, I think the 13's were undefeated as well. I know both groups won state as 11 year olds. The 13's weren't even contested until the championship when they played a travel team out of Jena and still won by a couple runs. Monroe has a great Dixie program, they have not had the loss to travel that most other leagues have had.
