Decided to take the RV for a test run before season starts to work out any kinks. It better look like cooling off before the first Saturday in September. Good God, is it hot here at the Farr Horse Park.
Another issue.....will the intersection of Nicholson and Leee ever be addressed? The traffic problem there has been going on for years.

Such an easy fix too just add Turning lanes

You could always go a different route...that's the easiest fix.

My exact thoughts every time I passed there beside my other thought of why did I pass here again? lol

Thy widened Brightside and stopped just West of the RR tracks.
The fact that they haven't upgraded the Brightside, Lee, Nicholson intersection is criminal. That intersection is something out of the 50s.
BR traffic problems (off the interstates) would get a whole lot better if they just improved some key intersections and this corner is the prime example of what I mean.

I never understood why BR streets were designed without turning lanes. They are almost non existent around LSU.

Saw the plans recently for this intersection. There widening it and taking that giant hump from the rr crossing away. Adding turning lanes on all sides. They said it should construction should last almost a year and of course there probably gonna start doing the construction right when students move in. BRTIOOC

We just bought a portable 10,000 AC unit at Walmart for our RV (about $300) It works great and is quiet.

That should be interesting.

Does the ac unit run off the RV generator? I will look into it when I get back home

Where exactly did you see these plans?
I pass this intersection too and from work everyday. I try going down river road to brightside then jump on Nicholson or I'll go all the way down nicholson. Grass is always greener.
The solution is so simple it's stupid......Kinda like last year's quarterback dilemma. just had to throw that out there

I posted a link with an update but no plans. and i agree its simple. but it also cost 10 million dollars. i mean its not like fairies just came from neverland and just waved their wand and the road was corrected.
with that said it should have been done long ago. glad its finally being done.

already underway
The link says the design is 85% complete and then they have to go to right of way aquisition.
What's the over and under of this key project? 5 years? LOL
The intersection improvement should have been put ahead of the Brightside widening project. I think they put the horse behind the cart.

The thing that is so irritating is that this is not only a key intersection for fans headed to lSU for sporting events, but it's a heavy truck route and a heavy commuter route for traffic headed to LSU and to downtown.
Any traffic planner with half a brain should know this intersection is choking the North/South traffic flow here severely.

I cannot access the plans on my iPhone but would wonder how they will address the gas pumps located so close to the intersection?

If the weather channel map is correct I might be able to sit outside the RV the rest of the day burning Cohiba and drinking Pinch

WBRZ did a piece on it a month or two ago and showed them as "projected plans". I dont know how they're going to deal with the railroad tracks but if they do BR road construction like usual, im sure itll be nothing more than a huge cluster frick.
