Blog post here from And The Valley Shook

LINK

I love this blog and the guys who write for it. I was somewhat shocked to see this posted but it's a pretty interesting topic. I know more than a share of LSU fans who can't stand Mathieu and it's always seemed odd to me.

Personally, I don't care about his twitter or his trash talk or this that and the other because he makes big plays. If he wasn't and talked like that I'd be pretty disappointed.

Sometimes I get frustrated, like that play against Alabama, but damn the guy is a ton of fun to watch and so important to parts of our team. I'd rather the guy be who he is and keep making big play for LSU, than be a nobody.

I realize this has been hammered out here already but I figure a blog post that sums it all together wouldn't be bad.

haters gonna hate. Tm7 is a beast and he can back up any trash talking he does. Unlike Andre debose at Florida who tried to out trash talk but was highly unsuccessful on the field.

A big % of LSU's fan base are conservative white people who have about 0% in common with TM7. Most of these people cant even accept Obama as president and hes a much more clean cut and sharper guy than TM7... LSU football creates cultural blurs unseesn in everyday society. The fact that dude is praised buy 92,000 hunting , fishing, republican, purple and gold confederate flag flying people is a modern miracle.

I am sure that Tyrann is truly upset that this no name writer doesn't like him. Perhaps said writer could just not follow him on Twitter. Seems like he is a hater that was looking to fill a blog requirement.

I follow very few football players on twitter, they clutter up my feed.

What he does doesn't bother me, and I'm not an lsu fan. It's blown out of proportion these days with all the social media websites around. Deion Sanders and Charles Woodson both were the exact same way, only they didn't have twitter or ESPN to cover everything they said

In my opinion, you can't help to route for the little guy amongst a game played by giants. I can't stand the trash-talking but it doesn't stop me from pulling for him. IMO, the blogger is a bigger problem. So what if you don't like him. TM7 is a tiger. As long as he isn't killing dogs or other wierd and crazy things I will support him.

Looks like ATVS is needing more content for its site. Stupid opinion piece by a writer we've never heard of nor care about. Congrats dude for that filler article.

I like him bc he plays for LSU. If he was the exact same player on and off the field but played for any other SEC school, I wouldn't care about him much, other than pull against him.

I would imagine most LSU fans fell the same. Geaux Tigers, the hell with the rest.

What LSU fan has ever defended Collins or Perrilloux???

LSU was around long before Tyrann and will be around long after. We've been respected because we did things the right way and as a team. I don't need to see or hear him talking trash after every single play on national television making LSU look like a Thug U. One of my best memories is beating Miami 40-3, the last thing I want to see is our team acting like them. Just because you might be able to back up something doesn't mean you should be talking.

I'll be honest, if he wasn't a Tiger, I'd hate him.

That article is a joke. I'm guessing that guy would have said the same thing about Muhammed Ali regarding his banter and mouth. He used it to defeat his opponents psychologically. Mathieu does the same thing and I can see how he angers his opponents, but isn't that exactly the point, to defocus the other guy from executing.

Yes it is. I love his swagger and this is American the last time I checked. He can tweet whatever he wants to, & it's none of my business.
