My cousin landed this bad boy.
He's the luckiest bass fisherman I know. He always catches bass when he's not even trying. He caught this 7.5 lber while throwing a worm trying to retrieve a snagged crankbait.
Last time we went fishing he caught a nice keeper on a perch pole. The only bass any of us caught all day.

That hoist honestly makes it look 12lbs. That's a beauty right there.

That bass has a great color to it. My dream is a 10lber with that coloration.

I have been on TD it seems like forever, but just recently found this board.
Anyway, caught this one last summer at the Mardi Gras rig fishing out of Dularge. We were hauling in 2 to 3 pound specks as fast as we could (easily got our limit) and I hooked up this bad boy.
Using light tackle and live shrimp, took about 20 minutes to get him in as he would scream towards the rig every time I got him close to the boat.
We think around 30 to 35 pounds (only had small scale), it was a great day of fishing. Not sure about my hoisting technique. Never really thought about it. It was obviously at the dock and he was slimy as frick and couldn't hold him sideways.....this is my first hoist on here.....feel free to critique it!
