Your opinion on local media coverage of LSU

I see a lot of comments on various threads voicing displeasure with local media outlets on how they cover LSU sports.
I'm curious as to what people's general opinions are on how the local media cover LSU, across all sports. From The Advocate and Times Pic to websites like TSD and Tigerbait and Tiger Rag.
First of all, which media outlets do you turn to first for LSU coverage? Why?
Second: What do you like about that media outlet? What don't you like?
Third: Content: Would you like to see more investigative pieces? More tactical/analytic pieces? More recruiting coverage? Better photos? More video? More interviews? What kind of content are you not seeing that you'd like to see? What kind of content do you see too much of?
I guess I just see more negative feedback than positive feedback, because usually great stories just get a read and no response, while bad stories result in outrage and feedback.
ETA: ESPN hates LSU.

I think WBRZ and WAFB do a pretty good job of covering LSU.

Aren't you in some type of local media?

I pretty much use this site to read posted articles I deem interesting.
Not much in the advocate is really worth reading anymore, it's just bland general filler.
"Mettenberger ready to take over"
"(insert player here) ready for season to begin"
"Hilliard hopes to have big year running the ball"
Yeah, no shite.

To be fair, writing summer stories is a pain in the arse. There's almost no media availability.

Why do people like Dandy Don so much?
I get the popularity of this site. You can discuss anything you want. But I don't get the love for DD. Is it just the tradition of it?

I treat local media the same way I treat national media:
I ignore them.

DD's site was the first of its kind for LSU fans and I'm guessing most continue to check It out of habit. I can't imagine anyone thinking the content is really deep or good though.
Sort of how even though Tiger Bait has pretty terrible coverage and sources now, it was still the first LSU site of its kind so people have stuck with it

Gotcha.
If I recall correctly, I first got on this board because of a friend who got on this board from Dandy Don.

Dandy Don was the 1st recruiting page for LSU. He was, and his son is very respectful, but sometimes they have a few stats wrong. Ultracritical fans don't like Dandy Don Page.

Disgraceful. That paper makes Glenn Guilbeau look like a Pulitzer winner

So I guess LSU fans from that demographic remain loyal.
I'm more interested about what kind of stories people want to see more of and what they want to see less of.
I'm also interested in criticisms of the status quo. What is local media doing right, and what do we do wrong?
I mean, an obvious criticism is communicating with consumers. The fact that I think this site is the best place for that conversation speaks for itself.
