sunday survival thread - how/when to bail out

I think its been established that stockpiling and trying to lay low just isnt feasible. Now if ur on a farm, already isolated, todays thread wont apply. We are talking a city\suburb evacuation.
Deciding when to split is at ur own discretion. you should have ur gear ready, there wont be any running to walmart... Another thread is mentioning bailout bags.
Lets discuss what should be in them. First in survival need is shelter. Getting dehydrated or wet/cold is not the way to start. I have a midsize tent thats light weight. One spool of trotline is invaluable for many uses, such as holding tarps, etc. and easy to pack.
Any advice or tips add as we go.

I am thinking about a yurt. Great starter piece to begin with and can work and build around it from there. The rest is gravy.

Tent
Fire starter
Kindling(dryer lint works great, just put it in a ziplock)
Water and means of purification
Food for a week or two
Guns and ammo
I'll think of more later
And the Judge

Do y'all really buy all this stuff and expect to use it one day?
Serious question.

Nice gerber kit.
Being on foot changes everything. If u can get out via truck or car, u can unload the whole house. martial law may not allow that, or vagrants...
Pack whats really necessary. Forget the comforts of home, too much weight.
If u have a Lab dog or such, a great asset in carrying goods it can be.

2 10x10 tarps and some para-cord can go a long way when the first need is shelter. Also a thermal blanket is small enough to throw in without hurting anything.

I agree with having a few things handy all the time I just think people get a little carried away with it sometimes.

I don't have anything for that specific purpose. But could throw enough together and be out the door in a hurry.
