Some Deli Employees At Dorignac's Really Don't Like Rare Roast Beef...

Morning All,
A few days ago, I went to get some of the rare roast beef that Dorignac's makes themselves. It's the best around to me.
So I asked the lady behind the counter if they had some. The only rare they had was the "Italian Style", which is usually smothered in garlic.
Well, what the hell, I figured I'd try it, so I asked the lady for a small piece.
After she cut it, she asked me, "You're going to eat that just the way it is?"
Umm...I said, "Sure, why not?"
Took a bite of it, and then the lady felt the need to tell me, "You know you're making me sick eating that."
I did ask her how she eats her steak, and of course, the answer was "COOKED. ALL THE WAY THROUGH."
Have things changed this much??!! She wasn't in a bad mood or anything like that.
Good freaking grief!

Was she having a polite discourse with you or being judgmental and rude?
Sounds pretty unprofessional on the surface.

How old was she? I am guessing @ 60 or older, which would have produced the mind-set that rare is not good for you to eat. A serving of steak tartar would most probably make her hurl.

She seemed to think it was polite. She first asked me if I needed anything else. When I said no, she said, "Don't tease me now."

I wouldn't be too offended by this.

But this is just unprofessional.

I think people are more paranoid these days of getting sick from meat.

This from a person hired to SELL you meat? She needs some redirection from her supervisors to say the least.
And this?
My mother taught me that it was always rude to comment negatively on another's food in ANY situation.
Geez.

She's the deli meat slicer in the grocery store. Who cares what she says or thinks.
I had a cab driver fart the other day half way through my ride.
Ride cost $8.10. He got eight bucks and a dime, looked at me for a tip and I said "lay off the boiled eggs."

That's not my mentality. I don't ever look down on what someone does for a living - with the possible exception of ticket scalpers.

Yes. Not so demanding. All it requires is that she slice and package meat and keep from alienating customers. She failed on this particular day.

I didn't mean to sound like that. I meant it's just a comment. I hear a lot worse on a daily basis and they just don't know any better. Give her the benefit of the doubt.
