Cavani is the last thing we need right now. Give Torres this season to be the man, if it doesn't work out dump him and get the best you can get next summer, or even in January, but not now. Torres needs to know he's the man.
You have lost the plot. Would you rather have Torres and Cavani or Torres and Lukaku?

So when fantasy EPL starts up again, what Chelsea players should I take a gamble on buying? Ivanovic? Ramires? Sturridge?
Posted on 7/20/12 at 1:44 am to cwil177
Depends on cost. I carried 0 players most of the year.

I would rather have a Torres who knows he is the man.

Gotta give Fernando time knowing he's the guy. I know it was against the MLS but what I saw from Hazard excites me and think it will compliment what Torres does best. The way he attacks the defense and knowing what Mata can do makes me think Fernando will be able to get a lot of chances this season. As previously mentioned Torres showed in Euro that he can make dangerous runs and now it looks like Chelsea may have some mids to feed him the ball more consistently.

You have to have a backup plan and someone to play all of the extra matches. Cavani could relieve some of that. Lukaku can't.

Who needs Cavani when you have Lukaku? Cavani would put Torres on the bench.

No kidding......which is why we need him. We can't afford to wonder if he is going to start ripping off goals like his Liverpool days. Plus I just want to be able to give you a big ol CaaaaaaaaaVANI, when he goes hatty on Arsenal.

17.99 for the blue, it's legit and he should be getting the away in August. I got lampard on mine and found some of the replica shorts with the gold stripes and gold number 8 on eBay for 14.00.

Cavani is too expensive and is not going to be ok with being the "backup plan". Also when do you give Sturridge and Lukaku a chance? I know you don't rate Lukaku at all based on almost zero ability to evaluate him but when does he get his shot? We keep buying all this young talent and we need to give it a chance to thrive. I would rather add another winger like Hulk who can score goals than spend a crap load on another centre forward.

Not that I care about how much money Roman spends I just mean in terms of he's too expensive/prized to be a "backup plan" and if he comes here and doesn't play he's not going to be happy. We don't need that kind of distraction. Give the young boys a chance.

Also when do you give Sturridge
We did....he is decent at best. Remember, we aren't shooting for mid table.

I have watched more games of his than you have for sure. He isn't good. YET. Oh, he bullied some weak back line for Seattle, now he's a world beater. Guess you didn't see the three times he tried to take on a squared up defender and got the ball taken three times. Yeah, three times by the same backline that couldn't be squad players for Swansea. Cavani signing would be greater than Hulk. If you don't get it, well, I don't expect you to get it. You think Lampard is better than Xavi.

So playing him out of position is giving him a shot? Not to mention behind Mata he was our best attacking player the first half of the season despite playing out of position. I guess we should get rid of that dead weight.

Unless you are big fan of the Belgian league, that's bs. And if you watched him in the Belgian league what were you missing? He was tearing that league up as a 17-18 year old kid.

Your opinion.

Now, no. In his prime, easily.

He would take over the starting role after training with the team for one day. Torres would be a decent back up to Cavani.
