So a 2ft tall 1 ft wide wasp nest has appeared in the last couple of weeks in a decorative tree in my front landscaping. Damn thing went up quick and they some big black sons of bitches.

Anyways what's the best way to get rid of it? When I was a kid we would spray them with diesel. But this is a nice tree that overhangs my front walk up.

I was thinking about a couple rounds from the judge but my neighbors might get pissed.

The are fairly big. All black. Have two small yellow spots. The nest is cornucopia shaped hanging in the tree. It appeared in a few weeks. It looks like a bunch of paper mâché spiraled around. I guessed wasp but could be what ever.

Hornets then, it doesn't matter too much though. Get some hornet and wasp spray. Drench the nest at night when they'll all be there and less aggressive.

I wish I knew where to buy one of these:

Even though it is at night run like hell after the dousing. And don't shine a flashlight directly on the nest.

Or you could do like the wif did and attack the nest with a broom in broad daylight (after one stung her). They lit her arse up.

Do you live in the country or subdivision?

If your in the country just shoot the nest down with a 22. They will be pissed off for a while but avoid the area and they will leave after a day with no nest

Or build a fire under it with used tires, smoke-em out.

So I had a big one like that I. My tree years ago.
Pulled up to it, bout 20-30 yards away in my truck.
Rolled down the window.
Put 4 shots of 3" 12 gauge 6 shot rapid fire style in it.
Rolled up window
Drove off.

Results

Nest fell. Wasps that survived moved on.

Dishwashing soap and water. Lots of it for that nest. Kills them dead and saves your plants.

Don't believe me, try it on a smaller nest. Freezes them bitches like wasp spray does.

Would be great action on a hot, dry, windy evening though.

Get a can of carb cleaner, and a lighter. Have fun. My roommates and I set our apartment on fire in college like this. Have a hose ready so you're not doing a bucket brigade with Dixie cups.
