George W. Bush's one saving grace is that he had some great Supreme Court appointees. A conservative Supreme Court could literally save football in America. A liberal Supreme Court would be far more likely to award huge monetary payments to these figs suing the NFL and Riddell, and kill football as we know it in the process.
Important that Romney wins b/c he will be able to re-stock the aging Conservative judges to keep the court tilted in the right direction.

I don't want to turn this into a Poli Board thread but you have no idea what you're talking about.
Even if one of these cases gets to the Supreme Court, they would be hearing an appeal, not a de novo review in which they would be awarding damages. They would be looking at a specific legal theory proposed by the losing side and without knowing what that legal theory is it makes no sense to start predicting what the court would do based soley on which president appointed them. In some cases that sort of thing matters but the SCOTUS isn't nearly as politicized and people want to think.

Pop Warner has released new practive guidelines with limits on contact.
I predict greater waiver/hold harmless measures going forward or tackle football will go the way of the high dive --> rare and highly insured...

I've been saying this for a long time. Players use their helmets as weapons. They had almost zero head injuries before because nobody led with their head.
This x 1,000,000.
It's crazy how in a league that demands such a high level of performance they can disregard the most basic fundamental in the game, one that is most often the very first thing you learn while playing.

no need to remove the helmets, just the facemask and that will help solve the problem

Actually there was a recent article about brain damage in soccer from all the heading of the ball.

eliminate helmets and shoulder pads, as there are no better tacklers than rugby players. when you MUST tackle properly to make a play, it's amazing how seldom people lead with the head.
I wouldn't say eliminate them..
Have pads that aren't made of HARD, LIGHT plastics that make the players faster and more dangerous because of how hard the plastics are now.
I have been saying this as well. It would make the game more interesting if players had to actually tackle one another
