^This. Rock bass don't live in LA. There is not even one documented occurrence of them bring introduced here.
Warmouth Bass - This is what he caught (and what most people call Goggle Eye)
This is a rock bass - also called a Goggle Eye where it is native, but would be a rare find in LA.

By that rationale, Goggle Eye is wrong too. As is Choupique, As is Mud Cat, As is Perch (Cause they're not perch)
Do we have to call every species only by it's scientific name?
