It's entirely possible that he's completely oblivious to how terrible the fans think Javi is.
I don't think that's possible.

It would be a willfull ignorance, but still think it could be possible. He's oblivious to how awful his Kim Jong Il sunglasses are.

I would bet Alleva isn't, though.
Alleva doesn't even get out of bed unless there's a drop in ticket sales. Dude has the ultimate feet on the desk job.

I mean, I know it's the "cool" thing to rag on how bad Alleva is, but these comments are just so stupid.

Just a note on "no coaching changes", only video was of him talking about the players leaving, players returning, he's very optimistic about next year, etc.
The notes did say Nola will be shut down after 3 weeks in the Cape. Cotton and Bourgeois will work as starters this Summer in case that turns out to be their role next year.

Other notes...Katz and Moore to work at 3rd this Summer, and the roster numbers currently look ok.

I was kind of expecting something like this given that we refused to recruit anyone at 1B or 3B.

What I should have said is that he probably doesn't care much if our baseball team struggles at the plate. What he see's is an SEC championship and another notch on his belt. I seriously doubt he's overly disappointed about the way the baseball season ended. From the perspective of the fan, it's much harder to watch.

We probably had fewer ABs since they were scoring one more run per game as well.
Think before you post please, don't matter how many you send up you still only get 3 outs. (this was in regards to our # of strikeouts)..

Turning into his lou tepper

I actually used the comparison to Jim Mora and Carl Smith with the Saints. EVERYONE knew that Smith sucked as the OC, it was obvious, but Mora wouldn't fire him. It ended up costing Mora his job.
I still say fire Javi and go after SB's recruiting coordinator, who is also their hitting and defensive coach. That team's defense was so good they made the mediocre pitching look awesome.

If CPM actually said this then why do we even need a head coach. I can't believe he would be stupid enough to say this, he can't be that clueless.

This whole situation is without a doubt exactly like Dinardo/Tepper. Except with Dinardo, the stakes were higher.
And what's uncanny to me are the people who are sold on that bullshite, just because it's the coach saying it.

that comes off as quite arrogant of him to say

It's not even about having a great hitting team at this point. It's about plate discipline and putting together good at bats. How many innings were we playing from behind, only to hand the opposing pitcher an 8 pitch inning. If you can't hit the pitcher, at least run his pitch count up a little bit. Holy shite.
This. The only signs of life we showed all weekend was against their bullpen, but we did nothing at the plate in any of the games to force them to dip into there. We would have a batter walk on 4 pitches, then have the next batter whale at the first pitch, often out of the strike zone, and pop it up. Never, ever, worked the pitch count at all, and it didn't change.

Anyone ever consider that he fielded a question and was sticking up for his assistant coach? Sometimes words get twisted.
