I know Manieri was trying to get as many sticks in the lineup as he could, but do Katz, Edward, or Rhymes belong in the outfield?

in all honesty, no

faster outfielders could have caught a lot of their bloop singles out there and saved a lot of runs we gave up tonight

was painful to watch

ETA: and they were basically the exact opposite. if their outfielders were like ours we would have scored a lot more runs

Katz and Edward played 1B at points in their careers. They are now playing CF and RF. That's terrible. How does a program like LSU lack talent like that?

Slowest outfield in the history of NCAA baseball

No. SB should show you that. We hit the ball hard a lot tonight and none of it landed because SB OFs were fast to the ball.

None of those guys belong in the OF. None of them even have average speed or arms. Edward is the only one with a decent arm and it isn't great.

They have outfielders that can't hit (besides Sciambria) and hitters that can't play outfield.

At least next year Sciambra will return and add some speed and a decent bat to our lineup... hopefully with another year Arby will get better and be able to be out there as well

Katz belongs in RF, definitely should have more speed in left and center

I like that our offensive lineup got 6 hits in two games.

I think Fields gets to a couple of those balls that Katz couldn't get.

Sciambra will be good imo. I have a feeling Arby won't be here. He's in way over his head.

If Katz belongs in right field, then he needs to be catching fly balls all fall. His judgment on that ball that got by him was awful.

Would have loved to see how Sciambra would have developed throughout the year in center.

Katz was fine in RF, moving him into CF without prior practice was a problem that bit us in the arse

I love how Edward makes a mistake that absolutely shouldn't be made at the high school level, let alone college.

I honestly think his injury ended up costing us more than we thought... Adds much need speed both in the outfield and on base and is another decent left handed bat that we could have used

no, their coaches positioned them to be able to make those plays. while our outfielders are playing straight away, their outfielders are playing left center, right center and the lines depending who was up to bat. that was a coach doing his job.

and fields should have played yesterday and today, him not out there today cost us at least one run but more like two. and him not being out their yesterday coast us 2 runs. and im sorry edwards .240 average is not worth 3 runs.

It was like watching 2 different levels of baseball comparing the 2 outfields tonight.
