i was just thinking the same thing. im sure he could. no rule against it. but you don't want to waste gausman extending this game perhaps?

Not likely. There will be a long intermission and they will have to clear the stadium between games.
Also you do not know how long game 1 will last. It could go another 9 innings. Who knows. Then you used your 1 and 2 in the same game with 2 games left.

Give him one inning tonight then he starts tomorrow.

Goody was warming up when we were about to restart. I don't know who will pitch now.

He certainly can't go both games if they are both played tomorrow. It may be worth considering throwing him in the 12th tomorrow if that game starts first. We will not burn our 1,2, &3 pitchers if we don't start him and lose, then drop game 2.
This game is a big one to win. I wouldn't be against him coming out to start the 12th and going the distance. If the game only last 1-3 innings he could probably turn around and pitch in game 3 Sunday.

I wasn't thinking this for Gausman but the Stony Brook ace

Depends if he has done his usual pre-start routine today. Most guys have some sort of schedule and they do a certain workout the day before their start. If he has done that already today, I doubt he will throw at all. If he hasn't thrown today, then they may use him for an inning. 15-20 pitches is no big deal when you were going to throw that many in the bullpen anyways.

thinking the same, he would come back for Game 3 (if it happens)

I'm glad y'all can speak for him.. The correct answer is that it depends on the nature of his arm. I've known guys who could do it. One of them is an MLB starter.
Buncha awesome coaches up in here

he can but I think it would be a stupid decision, throw a guy in the bullpen.
