Some baseball recruiting research on Jamie McClure, the RHP out of Panola...

...it would appear that he played on a team with the worst defense of all time.
6-4, 2.38 ERA
68 IP, 58 hits
30 walks, 47 K's
actually gave up 35 runs, but only 18 were earned. The rest of their pitching staff had similar numbers.

Nope. It's not.
58 hits in 68 innings is decent.
Their team fielded at a .928 clip this year, which is beyond awful. The question is how many hits were actually the result of crappy defense.
But yeah - 47 K's and 30 BB's in 68 innings is an indication his command isn't great.

on a positive note, control can be taught

He was less than impressive in high school and his college stats don't show me much. I bet his family connections came into play.

I don't think he's likely to make a big impact on the staff next year. I'd expect Hunter Newman and Mitch Sewald to be the big additions.
Newman:
P/3B HUNTER NEWMAN, SR., CALVARY DAY
THE LSU-bound right-hander went 6-2 with a 1.52 ERA, striking out 114 batters in 73 2/3 innings. He hit .500 with 25 runs, 30 RBIs and a .560 on-base percentage.
Sewald:
5-1 with an 0.98 ERA, with 88 strikeouts in 64 innings.

Hunter Devall/LHP: ERA 0.98 / 140 strikeouts in 71 innings pitched.
