I don't think it would be a big deal if it was just reported as a rumor instead of 247 reporting it as if it was basically a fact. Just look at the title of the article it was published in:
I personally don't really care, but people can definitely take issue with it when it's reported in such a way and winds up being untrue.

It rubs me the wrong way when media attempts to break stories the fastest and they are inaccurate.
Then brag about it like they told you so. When they were wrong in the first place.
