Can someone help me place a value on this...
I think it is a first edition print... But not in the greatest shape... On eBay they range from 0 to 200 I don't know where this one falls

I think the telltale sign of a first edition print of Meet the Beatles is missing ASCAP and BMI credits on the vinyl's label. Can you post a picture of the label on the record?

Will do when I get back home.
I think the "3" is also a marking for this... But you're right might be on the record.

Need to evaluate the actual vinyl. Still plays clean or does it have some crackling ?

I think so too but I'm not sure.

I'll go ahead and say that if it is a first edition, I'd say that you should be able to get at least $100 for it in that condition. Maybe several hundred to the right person. If it was near mint, you'd be able to make a killing on it. Probably at least $1000. It's definitely a good find in any case.

$50-$70... The cover looks to be in poor condition on the edges, but what is important is the actual album itself. Any scratches? etc...

It's really not in that great of shape.... But for $3 I took a shot.

Also thanks for the help I'll post more pictures when I get a chance.

I've dealt with Beatles albums before. What does the label onthe album look like? Some one had mentioned earlier about the letters AMPB (or something like that). You will find them on the label. This is the talltale sign if first pressing or not.

After further searching, it looks to be first pressing, but only worth $50-$70. People ask $100's for it, but it only sells in the $50-$70 range.

For three dollars, that is a pretty good investment. I stand corrected on my previous overestimation, but if it's truly the first variation of Meet the Beatles then it is pretty rare and there are people that seek it out. There are supposedly only a few dozen that are known to still be around (even for the mono version which you appear to have). Again, look for the lack of BMI or ASCAP credits on the label. This is essential to whether you have a highly sought after copy or one that's only worth a few dollars or so at average condition. Here's a website that gives you info on what you can look for LINK.

ok after looking at the label it looks like i dont have a 1st press.... even though the cover made it seem like it was...
i was basing all of this off this...

seems that i might have a first press cover with a 3rd press record
either way still cool

First Variation This first one was pre-produced before released and rather than wait for the performing rights organization credits to arrive they simply omitted them from the first run. This only happened at Keystone (on the East coast) and should have the number 3 on the back bottom-right of the cover (for Scranton). These labels don't have either BMI or ASCAP on the label songlistings and in the condition you describe this variation can sell for around $100-150.

I checked the back cover of my copy of MTB yesterday and it had the number 3 with the BMI/ASCAP labels, too. Pretty strange that they don't mention this for other variations. Still a good pickup for three bucks, especially if it plays decent.
