Who ya got?
I think Facelift takes the first three songs. It starts out with a bang letting you know right away that the band is junkie epitome. Dirt takes a minute to build up, even though it's fast paced as well.
Nonetheless, while Facelieft continues to jam, slow down, and jam...especially by "It Ain't Like That" and "Sunshine" (my favorite AIC tune), Dirt takes us on a journey that we don't know where we are going, but we are very much liking it. "Junkhead" and "Dirt" follow up "Rooster" and get us right back into the jam, despite that "Rooster" is beloved.
The endings of both albums are great, but Dirt is incredible. "Would" is untouchable. "Angry Chair", just before it, echoes the sounds and lyrics of "Rain When I Die" and "Junkhead". Dark, mysterious, and grasping at our curiousity. Facelift sort hits its peak a bit too soon. "Sea of Sorrow" and "Bleed the Freak" are great tracks in the beginning, but end-wise...the album falters off and we get their "filler" stuff. I am sure someone will argue. "Real Thing" just doesn't match up with "Would."
Ok, analyzing is for the birds. Bottom line...deserted island and you get one of the two...which one and why? I ask bc my brother is a Facelift guy. I like Dirt.

Facelift for me... and you didn't mention the best song on the album(IMO) which was Love Hate Love.
Both are good, Dirt had more hits but really their is no wrong anwser.

It really depends on the mood. I lean towards Facelift though.

Dirt slightly ahead of Facelift; I do like the rawness of Facelift though but Dirt is a masterpiece and really put them on the map internationally
