Scoreboard and Tee Times

Should be a good week of golf. Most of the top players are playing their 2nd tourney in a row.

Sawgrass is my fav course [after augusta].

A great weekend ahead. Maybe Tiger can even make the cut.

Really? Except for the finish at 16, 17, and 18, I think the course is kinda shitty. The best part is that 17 wasn't even in the original design. It basically happened by accident when they were almost finished the layout.

quote:

An unexpected by-product of the lake construction was the island green at the 17th hole. What was originally designed as a small pond near the green continued to be dug for the valuable sand base found in that area. After the excavation work, nearly all of the area around the green was surrounded by water. Now it is perhaps the most famous par-3 in the world. Dye credits his wife, Alice, with the concept of building an island green after she saw the construction site one day.

So, the "renowned" Pete Dye let his wife design what is now the most famous par 3 in the world.

I'm not even sure what my favorite course after Augusta is, maybe Torrey Pines?

Steve Elkington tweeted that Tiger pwned Brandel Chamblee. Said "what does he know, he can't even play."

Thats not what he said. I watched the presser. He said he was entitled to his opinion and he does not play any more.

This was from a question about should he go back to his old coach
.

Yea, Elk is exaggerating a little. Tiger did throw a little shot at both of his critics, Faldo and Chamblee, though:

quote:

"The bottom line is for me, he just doesn't have the self-belief, the self-confidence that he obviously had, the Tiger of old. Simple as that," six-time major champion Nick Faldo, who is an analyst for Golf Channel and CBS, said during a conference call Tuesday to promote the Players. Said Woods: "I always find it interesting since they're not in my head. They must have some kind of superpower I don't know about." During that same conference call, Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee, a former PGA Tour player, said: "He's got just very complicated swing thoughts going on, and he's been at it for the better part of two years trying to incorporate these, supposedly one of the best athletes, trying to incorporate these swing thoughts over two years. It's just sad." Said Woods: "Well, I can understand that everyone has an opinion, and he's entitled to his. But he's no longer playing anymore, so, so be it."
