I have two degrees from ULL and I am still an LSU fan. I wore PnG to class and they HATED me. Whatever, born an LSU fan and will die an LSU fan, although I never attended LSU, yet. I may get a degree from there after retiring, just to say I did.
I like both schools BTW, but if they play each other, LSU every time.

Nope they hate LSU more. That's why they are stuck in the cellar of college athletics. They are focused on the wrong things. Tech was smart enough to lobby for that CUSA bid for the last 5 years. ULL has been too busy celebrating their bowl win to actually implement a strategy or plan to improve. The Tech bid was a wake up call and their admins have woke up finally.

Sounds like their fans are starting to demand the admins at least disclose a public plan. The Tech bid caught them off guard. Nothing happens quick at ULL...give them some time.

Being from Lafayette and growing up a tiger and now student at LSU, you don't know how much shite I got from people I went to high school with, who go to ULL, after we lost in the BCSNCG. Beyond pissed me off, as I will always support ULL, unless they're playing the tigers. Supported them during their season and during their bowl game. I just don't get it.

I have some friends who grew up here and make their money here but have roots in Alabama. They have suddenly become the biggest Bama fans.

I went to USL bc it was the best Univ for my major in the state and rankly very highly in the nation. I love ULL and LSU and thinks it's pretty silly for an LSU fan to hate ULL or LSU to hate ULL. Just stupid. I love both and always will.

I agree that it's stupid that the two schools fans can't co-exist.
However, it's not like we're talking Georgia Georgie Tech here or Ole Miss and State.
LSU and ULL are not on the same planet as schools, athletically. And that's the thing.
ULL fans want to make it out like there's some sort of rivalry or competition when there isn't.
The whole "UL" bullshite has also caused a lot of problems. They are not the University of Louisiana. They don't represent this state.

honestly, this is nothing new at all...I lived there about 15 years ago (before they were Ulala) and the same shite was going on at that time...typically hear the most about from Ulala and tech fans...
it doesn't really bother me at all, but when someone from one of these fanbases tries to piss me off, I typically just gingerly say something like "well, I hate to hear that you guys dislike LSU so much, we regularly pull for you...we always kinda look at your team like our little brothers...we enjoy beating the shite out of yall, but don't really want any other team to do it"...

I went to LSU for 3 years and moved home to finish up at SLU. Most of the people here are LSU fans but every now and then I see a Bama shirt. One guy in my class had his Bama shirt twice a week. I asked him why he was a Bama fan and he says "I lived there for a year when I was 8." So you live here for 21 years but the one year out of state gets your allegiance??? "I try to put on crimson as much as possible so yall know whos boss."

That dosent bother me as much as it should I guess. My response is kinda like "sure you are", or "man thats great" and it usually just gets under the skin even more because even a name change cant shake my view of who is truly the flag ship. And they know this..
