I don't think the Braves are gonna want to sign McCann for the number of years he wants them to.

How many years do you think he wants them to sign him to?

Same here, but on my game of the Show 12, he's with the Yankees.

Hope we get off to a good start against the Dodgers. Kemp is scary.

You don't think they'd sign him for 5?

Same.

I think the Braves give him a 5 year deal with a club option for a 6th.

Hopefully a 4 year with a couple of options.

He will be a Brave.

This would be the max I think the Braves would be comfortable offering him. Don't get me wrong, I hope he retires a Brave. I just think they'd be willing to match the highest offer annual salary wise, just not over the length of time that some other club would undoubtedly toss at him. He's gonna be the top compensated catcher and should be...just not sure the Braves are gonna go the number of years.

What makes you think this?

Not sure he could sustain his output at the plate and behind it for that length of time.

Do you have a reason you think the Braves think that? Or is that just you thinking it?

My friend just texted me a pic of him at the game.

Going to Dodger stadium is on my bucket list.

Just me. I posted earlier that it was just a gut. I had never really thought about it until a few weeks ago when a couple radio guys in Atlanta were talking about it. Talking about catchers in their prime, along with all the different players who will need to be resigned down the line. It was their opinion that the Braves would try to ink him for 3-4 additional years after '13, and then let him move onto another club towards the end of his career with a club that was willing to take the chance.

A brother of the guy who owned the baseball academy I used to work at is there.

Other than Target Field and Miami's new stadium, he has now been to them all. I envy this so much, and plan on doing the same throughout my life.

I gotcha. I really don't see any way he doesn't re-sign with the Braves, but that is just me.

Sign him for 5 years with a club option for a 6th, and if he starts to decline defensively at a point where you aren't comfortable starting him, trade him to an AL team that would want him.

Although I think he can play catcher through his age 34 season.

My question is this: which row will our outfielders be positioned in for JJ vs Kemp?

Need some runs tonight.

Obviously Mac extension is priority, but we need to jump on this bandwagon of locking up young stars for cheap and sign JHey long term pronto IMO.
