It was nice to head west and win 3 of the first 4 games. We now head into LA to face a team that is yet to lose a game at home. That is sure to change in the next three days. Here are the pitching matchups:

All games are at 9:10 CT

Tonight - LH Chris Capuano (4.50 ERA) vs Jurrjens (8:10 ERA)
Tomorrow - RH Aaron Harang (5.40 ERA) vs Minor (3.10 ERA)
Wednesday - LH Ted Lilly (0.69 ERA) vs Beachy (Major League Best 0.47 ERA)

It sure will be nice to miss Kershaw this series. If we can take 2/3 and can turn this tough west coast road trip into a 5-2 record, I'll be stoked. I'll even be pretty pleased with just taking 1/3 and finishing the road trip with a 4-3 record. It's never easy to head west and win.

I'll post the lineup later on this afternoon when it is posted.

I thought it would be interesting to see how some of our minor league hitters are doing so far on the year. Here is every hitter that I had in the top 30 of my preseason prospect rankings:

28. David Rohm (OF, 22 years old, A+) - .279 avg, .784 OPS, 0 HR, 7 2B, 1 BB, 5 K's

26. Brandon Drury (3B/1B, 19 years old, A) - .172 avg, .433 OPS, 0 HR, 3 2B, 3 BB, 14 K's

25. Joe Leonard (3B, 23 years old, AA) - .258 avg, .695 OPS, 0 HR, 3 SB, 9 BB, 14 K's

22. Matt Lipka (CF, 20 years old, A+) - .226 avg, .647 OPS, 1 HR, 2 2B, 2 SB(3 CS), 5 BB, 15 K's

21. Mycal Jones (CF, 25 years old, AA) - .115 avg, .308 OPS OUCH, 0 HR, 0 2B, 2 SB(3 CS), 5 BB, 18 K's

20. Evan Gattis (C, 25 years old, A+) - .431 avg, 1.363 OPS, 6 HR, 4 2B, 21 rbi's, 5 BB, 7 K's

18. Kyle Kubitza (3B, 21 years old, A) - .317 avg, 1.008 OPS, 4 HR, 5 2B, 3 3B, 3 SB(1 CS), 6 BB, 19 K's

16. Nick Ahmed (SS, 22 years old, A+) - .304 avg, .864 OPS, 1 HR, 4 2B, 6 SB(0 CS), 9 BB, 5 K's

14. Adam Milligan (OF, 24 years old, AA) - .208 avg, .549 OPS, 0 HR, 3 2B, 4 BB, 13 K's

11. Tommy La Stella (2B, 23 years old, A+) - .343 avg, 1.016 OPS, 1 HR, 3 2B, 2 SB(0 CS), 5 BB, 1 K BOW

10. Joe Terd (3B, 23 years old, AAA) - .212 avg, .631 OPS, 2 HR, 2 2B, 2 SB, 8 BB, 17 K's

7. Edward Salcedo (3B, 20 years old, A+) - .315 avg, .906 OPS, 2 HR, 7 2B, 2 SB(2 CS), 3 BB, 9 K's

6. Christian Bethancourt (C, 22 years old, AA) - .214 avg, .474 OPS, 0 HR, 1 2B, 2 SB(1 CS), 2 BB, 8 K's

4. Andrelton Simmons (SS, 22 years old, AA) - .250 avg, .611 OPS, 0 HR, 1 2B, 3 SB(1 CS), 3 BB, 5 K's

Hope he picks it up, because a platoon of he and Francisco at 3B next year seems somewhat likely...

Yeah as it was talked about in the thread the other day, it's time to move him to the OF and get him out of A ball. There is not a single reason for him to still be there. You need to see what he can do against better pitching.

I was really happy to see those numbers with Salcedo. I just hope he can avoid that 0 for 50 streak that always finds him. Hopefully this is his year to put it all together.

I'd like to see La Stella in AA at some point this year as well.

That's not good. Gonna need to find a CF next season if we don't re-sign Bourn.

We should be able to smoke Harang, we've hit him well in the past. Hopefully we can take at least one from Capuano or Lilly. Capuano shut us down badly last year, but we've had mixed success against Lilly in the past.

Really nice to see Salcedo bouncing back nicely this year so far, as well as Kubitza doing well. Hopefully between those two, Terdo, and Drury we can come up with one decent 3B by the time Prado is a FA.

La Stella is looking really impressive, hopefully when he's back healthy he can move up to AA quickly and be a solid Uggla replacement down the line. You happen to know anything about how his defense is at 2B Swamp? (or anyone else for that matter)

Yeah CF next year is gonna have to come through a trade or FA. Hopefully a trade. We have nobody.

It's going to be interesting to see what type of decisions we make.

We have nothing for CF, and that will be a gaping hole and I doubt we want to pay Bourn big-time money just because he not the type of guy that will be worth it well into his 30s.

3B is either going to be Prado or some type of platoon, I'd imagine. Probably Prado considering the LF options...

So then you have LF and CF. A guy like Swisher would be amazing, but for how much... and then what to do in CF?

If I had my say, I'd try and trade for Bourjos and be happy with anything he gives you at the plate, because his defense is so stellar it's unreal.I know their OF is getting old, but I can't see them putting Trout in a corner spot just to keep Bourjos around.

Then ink Swisher and let him lock down LF for the next 3-5 years. Prado to 3B.

There's other, more inventive options: Trying JHey at CF, for instance.

From what I hear, he can turn out to be a serviceable 2B but nothing special. If he keeps hitting, it's likely he ends up in LF.

Once he makes it up to AA, I'll try and go check out a couple games and see for myself.

Has he ever played CF? I think he might have the range, but it would be a bit of a change.
