No such thing when talking about true freshman.

Who, besides delusional homers is expecting Mett to be one of te best qb's in the country during his first year of starting. Do you not know how rare that is?

The one thing that we cannot do is stick our head in the sand about the QB position anymore...

The SEC is about to become more of a passing league than ever before with Sumerlins Aggies and Mizzou.

There is a reason that Texas never wanted to play the Houston Cougars anymore, it was a no win game for them.

The Cougar offense would embarrass
the Longhorn D for sure and if Texas won then they were able to beat a team with no D.

If you plan on staying a contender in the future SEC than you will need a stable of good QB's waiting in the wings.

Dont expect to stockpile 2 and 3 really good ones. You will be lucky to have a high end freshman AND a high end junior.
Stable. No way. A stable of RBs. A stable of WRs. NO QB stable.

Kelly says Kiel is going to be allowed to compete to start.
Who thinks Kiel was going to start at LSU?
I did not see ND's spring game. Interesting to hear what came of it. Kelly says the competition will go on all summer.
Maybe. If someone shows they can play without throwing INTs, they win the starting job.

No lie.

After watching Rivers in spring practice and spring game, I think that either Randall, Liggins, or a freshman will start after Mett. Rivers is in athletic, inaccurate, and just doesnt have "it". He's not an SEC QB IMO.

Calm down. It was the spring game and it was his 1st ever collegiate action.

Pretty much, except maybe RB position...it's either you have it or you don't.

I'm fully expecting AJ at Bama to throw more also...in addition to Wilson, Bray, Shaw, etc.

Jeremy Liggins will split time with Rivers after Mett leaves and win out IMO. Think Tebow running style in Rohans body with A couple years with Kragthorpe. We will be fine.

Randall seems to be able to throw now. How do you take him out of the equation so easily? I would think Randall(sp) and Rivers would battle for the top spot before Legit Liggins would.

We have some good young talent at qb for the near future. Is this a pimping trolling thread for Liggins?

Some people forget that Jerrard Randall is also a QB who exists.

Liggins will be redshirted next season and wait out his turn. He is good, but not sure how good the arm is. Don't know why you said Rivers is a project. I feel confident if Mett went down he could step in and get the job done, and the same goes for Randal. It seems like a crazy idea to be happy with the qb's we have right now and to take it in stride, but it seems the fans are never able to do that. Might have something to do with no top rated qb's wanting to come to LSU.

I don't understand why so many are so negative to Rivers. I think he will be a fine QB when he gets his turn in 2013 or 2014.

Liggins... it doesn't matter probably. We will have rivers and after rivers we will probably have a stud coming in this season judging by the qb's that we are in the running for.

Not pissing on Liggins he might be the best qb to ever walk the face of the earth but if he is the opposite we will be fine anyway.

I don't understand all the hate on Rivers. He made every right decision with the ball in the spring game. The pass he threw for an interception was the only bad decision he made with the ball. The accuracy will come, lay off the guy.
