Jordan,

To the OP, again, fine truck. Different motors but I put a 14" Magnaflow SI/SO on my 6.2 and it's great. Barely noticeable at idle and cruising. Step on it to hear and enjoy (the pedal, not actual muffler). On my truck, I deemed it not worth my coin to do a full system replacement. I wanted to keep my warranty in check and it has full 3" pipe all the way to the Y pipe behind the cats. Might want to consider just a muffler swap and changing that shitty Y pipe that Dodge loves.

On my 05 Hemi I had true dual Flowmaster 40 series. Extremely loud and very deep. It was fun but not practical.

One last thing, what dealership did you buy from? Sorry if it's already been said.

Its Kevin Duet right? I know him fairly well. I will go check with him too see if he can do it. I have had flowmasters put on by Jody at his shop in Raceland before...always sounds good. Dont think i want flowmasters again. Have you dont anything else to yor truck?

Yep, that's him.

A single in/dual out flowmaster was the first muffler I put on my old '04. They're okay...I like the Magnaflow, but I think I like the dual in/dual out design the best. To me it always sound better...more of a nice rumble than that "redneck clap" you get with some mufflers.

Only thing done to this truck is window tint and a muffler swap. I may level it and put some beefier tires, and that's it. Chrysler has the PCM so heavily encrypted on all of their 2011+ models that no one can crack the coding and release a tuner yet. Otherwise I'd have probably put my old Diablo tuner on my new truck.

I did take my new one to the track for s's & g's over the Winter though. Ran a 14.69 as is (muffler swap only)...I know I can get a 14.5 out of it if I wanted to. Just not sure I want to beat on this truck like I did my old one, lol.

My '04 Hemi had longtube headers, no cats, dual electric cutouts, and a di/do muffler. Flip of a switch and it was absolutely stupid loud. I don't think my neighbors liked me for a while...though it sounded sick at idle with the cam. Too bad it never ran good.

ok so i have been cruising around a few dodge forums and a magnaflow's site....just how necessary is the Y pipe change? As I understand it the Y pipe is one of the restrictive areas in the stock exhaust but my only concern is getting the diameters right on the inlet and outlets because so I don't defeat my original purpose. So my fear is to spend the extra money changing the y pipe and not getting some sort of performance (hopefully mileage) increase for the money. did you notice any mpg gain when you changed it all out?

They probably have Y-pipes of various sizes already laying around the shop...most good exhaust shops do since it's a universal part. I didn't buy one when I had my exhaust done...think he just swapped it for me or fabbed one up himself.

I didn't notice a huge difference...but I can average right at 20 mpgs driving from Houma to BR if I am light on the go-pedal. I don't think swapping the Y is an absolute necessity...but it certainly won't hurt to do.

And FWIW, I post on dodgetalk and another smaller forum called nadodge (more performance based) under the same s/n

I hear ya...well i think i will go and talk to kevin tomorrow and tell him what want and also get his opinion on things. Definitely leaving the resonators on so my wife doesnt bitch about the drone, lol. Its been a little while since i have had a vehicle that i have wanted to change up and whatnot...its fun but such a damn money pit!

Money put is an understatement. Another option that I've read (I was on dodgetalk A LOT before I got my F150) is to get a 18" Magnaflow and remove the resonators. The 18" keeps the drone down and no resonators makes it a bit deeper sounding.
The Y pipe swap is no problem at all. Wont help mpg but won't hurt at all. Great mod if you plan on doing performance upgrades down the road.

Jordan, I can't believe that they still don't have a programmer out. I remember hearing all about the advanced computer but I figured that they would have it figured out by now.

Sounds like your old truck sounded mean. I did a cat delete also but didn't do cutouts. Some days I miss the sound of my old truck but my sanity thanks me more often than not.
