Thunder Tiger

Don't remember the "Go Tiger" bellower but then I was heavily sedated.

The unmistakable thing about "Big Red" was when he yelled all the veins in his neck would bulge out; he'd turn beet red and his head would thrust forward violently like a mad dog barking. The man put every ounce of his physical being and heart into every "TIGER BAIT!" belt.

Wow. Just awesome! An LSU man's man!

And yet nobody knows Auburn does this, meanwhile ours is famous...

Incorrect. Most of the country doesn't care about any "-bait" chants, and, if they do, they think of Florida's.

He was seated in the curve on the Northeast side of the stadium.

That is where I remember him sitting. It was behind the handicap section not far up. He would start up his chant and everybody would look over there.

Seems like LSU's "Tiger Bait" would be older than the 70's.
I agree with this.

I remember being a kid about 10 or 11 and hearing him. I saw him one Saturday night yelling into the LSU locker room. Not Tiger Bait but Eat'em Up Tigers before the game.

When I was in sixth grade playing for the River Oaks Bengals in Baton Rouge (BREC Football), we had a Dad that could imitate Big Red pretty well at our games. Always got us fired up.

When I was a student in the easrly-mid 80's, I remember him in the PMAC. It was kinda awesome to hear the usual buzzing pregame crowd during warm-ups, then everyone would slowly quiet down because you could hear this faint (at first because it was drowned out) then louder and LOUDER "TIGER BAIT" cheer by 'Big Red.'
What I liked about it was he bellowed it over and over without a break in between and kept an even, almost monotone quality to it, but VERY loud
