You are using Kincade's height as the sole determinant of his skill set???

Kincade may very well play the best competition of all our QB prospects, and he may pass the ball as well as any of them, but IMO his height does prevent him from being the most "complete" QB prospect (to use your word).

No question, Kincade's height is a negative. Particularly for a dropback passer. But my intended point to the other poster was that it doesn't make any sense to determine if a QB is a Pro-Style or Dual-Threat - purely by how tall they are.

did I say, he's only 6'0 tall so he's not good enough to play at LSU?

If he is that good, why haven't we offered him a scholarship?

you do know we didn't offer claiborne a scholarship until AFTER summer camp. top ten pick.

No need to get so defensive. I have no idea why LSU hasn't offered Kincade. I am no insider. Perhaps he forced Miles to give him a BJ (when Miles was looking for only some hand action, at nmost). I don't know.

but this thread was not about who we predict LSU ends up with - it is who we want to see LSU end up with. My expectation is that we get Connor Mitch...

what does that have to do with Kincaid?

Can someone point out where I said Kincaid isn't a good QB?

you said if he is that good then why doesn't he have an offer from lsu. just pointing out that the best player of the team last year didn't have an LSU offer at this point in his recruitment.

They have a great coaching staff and my mom and I were really comfortable with them. We had dinner with Coach Miles and his family and it was really cool to get to know him on a personal level. I also got to sit in on the quarterback meetings and talked a lot with coach Kragthorpe and Studrawa and that was great as well.

Someone said he's the top pro style QB on our board. Considering we have offered other pro style QBs, our coaching staff disagrees. Plus, he's listed as a dual threat guy not a pro style guy. Like I said, if we bring in a 6'0 dual threat QB, I think we bring someone else also.

I would like Bateman or Mitch with possibly Kincaid as the #2 guy. Barrett would be a nice addition also.

I did not say that Kincade was the #1 Pro-Style QB on LSU's board. I said he was the QB I would most want LSU to take. There is a pretty clear distinction between "what I expect LSU to do" versus "what I would most want LSU to do". No???

Oh, and I couldn't care less what category Rivals has him listed as. After all, they had Jordan Jefferson as a Pro-Style guy.

I think most people get a certain image in their head when they see "Dual Threat". More of Pat White than Steve Young. Kincade is clearly more like Steve Young (a pure passer, who just happens to have good wheels). And I think the dual-threat tag is doing him a disservice.

Junior stats:
- 186 comp in 263 att (70.7 pct)
- 3,270 yards
- 37 touchdowns
- 8 interceptions

All while playing in one of the best districts in the country (granted on a very talented offensive team). Those are not "Pat White numbers".

Kincade's rushing stats (as a junior):
- 131 rushes
- 857 yards
- 17 touchdowns

So, he passed for almost 4 times as many yards as he rushed.

++++++++++++++++++

Other Dual-threat guys:

Tyrone Swoopes: 2,267 yds rushing / 1,394 yds passing
Aaron Bailey: 1,983 yds rushing / 1,039 yds passing
J.T. Barnett: 1,515 yds rushing / 1,604 yds passing

LSUTool,

I assume you agree that Kincade has very little in common with these other highly-ranked quarterbacks who are listed as Dual-Threat. While I am sure they are superb athletes and football players, they are really nothing more than running backs who only throw when the defense has 10 guys in the box.

Kincade's skillset is vastly different from those guys, as his pure passing numbers (from his junior year) are outstanding, regardless of the measuring stick.

Plus, are you aware that he was just recently named the MVP of the Dallas Elite 11 quartback camp??? Note that these camps are all about passing - scrambling ability does not provide extra brownie points.

But Kincade came in 1st, ahead of guys like Barnett and Connor Bateman (who came in 5th). I will be very curious on hos Kincade comes out at the national event.
