Just a thought that maybe the sleeper is an assistant that Alleva knows real well at a top tier program. Kansas?
Who are the top assistants that we should consider?

I totally agree.......go find a guy that will teach x's and o's and sell the program.

Not Bobby Lutz from NC State please.

UAB just hired Jerod Hasse one of Roy's assistant coaches. He played for Roy at Kansas and has been with him for years. Dont know if there are any left from UNC. Chris Collins from Duke wants to get a head coaching job, but I dont think he will be worth a crap as a head coach. Just my opinion. I honestly think LSU should get someone with a little more name recognition instead of trying to go for the smaller schools. I honestly think Tim Floyd coming home to south Louisiana would be a great hire. He already has the connections and would do a better job than Brady and Johnson. Former Notre Dame/UNC/SMU coach Matt Doherty would be a pretty good hire. I just think SMU sucked as a recruiting mecca. Again, Just My Opinion.

Just a prediction or do you actually know something?

Wojo would be the best hire ever!

The current program is such shambles I fear that hiring a Assistant with no resume of being able to build or sustain a organization could be a major issue. I think a assistant can be a good choice in a program with establishment already on board. LSU is not a program right now.

Unless there are mass transfers, I disagree that the program is in shambles.

If the two who have been rumored to be contemplating transferring do then it's in shambles. Though the article on Tigerbait with Hickey's dad reassured me he won't make a rash decision.

While I agree that the program isn't in great shape, bringing in a big name would instantly raise expectations probably beyond reality. Then the next 2 seasons our fans would be questioning the hire and calling for the guy to be fired. While if we bring in a lesser name maybe our fans won't expect instant success and the guy will have 3-4 years to rebuild the program before everyone wants to fire him.
I think anyone we hire needs 3-4 years to rebuild the program. Our fan base will not give him that.

Chris Collins would be a decent option.

Capel and collins from duke

I want NOTHING to do with any Coach K assistants. Outside of Brey and Capel's mediocrity at OU they are not good

I dont really want one either, but I dont think track record of others has any bearing on future success of Collins/Wojo.
I think Dawkins will do well at Stanford and Amaker doing good things now.

True about amaker. I just don't think a duke guy is what this program needs. The best fit IMO is Scott Drew. If we get him LSU would be a tourny team next year. I'd go gap inside of Mike's cage
