Any recs on good camping in Alabama? Tuscaloosa based, but willing to drive a few hours. Prefer to be on/near water. No 12 hour hikes to get to the site as we are beginners to the camping thing. Tent camping or cabin, electric hookup and bath facilities a plus...pets welcome would be great...

Try state parks in the area you want. I've stayed in cabins in Tennessee just google the area you want.

Yes, today is my first day.
No, I am just giving you gumps a hard time. I have never camped in AL so that is the only input I had.

I can imagine you and some friends in a pasture drunk camping. I am

Gumps are just starting to meander onto other boards where they were once not allowed. It's kind of a new and exciting experience for them..Sort of like leaving the state of Alabama for the first time in their lives

Check out Bear Creek Log Cabins in Ft Payne. Been there twice and plan on going back many more times.

Sipsee wilderness, beautiful area, you'll feel like its Colorado or something. Main suggestion, bring your beer! It's a dry county. We learned this the sober way the first night
