Won the lottery, building stocked ponds at my plantation

At least this is what I had every intention of doing by Wednesday of this week. Turns out, you actually have to match most or all of the numbers on your ticket to win the lottery. Not sure if thats a state law or what, but they wouldnt budge on it.
Anywho, if you were to build medium sized(maybe 5-8 acre) ponds and, within reason, money was not an option, would you build one for Bass and Bream and one for Catfish and Sacalait? I'm not a doctor, but it seems that when confined to stocked ponds, bass and sacalait do not coexist well.
Any of you know of situations where ponds sustain healthy populations of all four species?

Yes. Not sure what you want to discuss here though.

I'd just build one with a bunch of bass and some bream, mostly so the small bream feed the bass. I don't really have a desire for a pond of catfish, and sacalait take shite over.

catfish will be more resilient imo

Just curious to know IF this can work, and if it does, why it works some places and not others?

Yes, I have a 4 acre that does fine. 5-8 will be big enough.

Sacalait and perch are fun as hell to catch and some of the finest freshwater fish around; well with the exception of Tilapia

They say it's because in ponds, bass and the perch do not live in the same water long enough for the bass to prey on them. It is recommended that if you must stock the white perch, also stock the hybrid bass since they are also open water fish and will eat anything.

It certainly can and does work. There are so many factors that go into succesful pond planting, it can be quite a challenge to create a viable habitat for all species to thrive.
BTW, if crappie took over my pond, i would NOT have an issue.

Crappie will take over from what I've been told, I've never stocked a pond so I haven't seen it first hand.

We have all four species in our pond plus goggleye. If you've got enough cover, it's not a problem. But if one ever gets ahead of the others, you are the only cure other than rotenone.
When we first bought the place it was full of mostly just stunted bass. I caught thousands of them and threw them on the bank. Eventually it leveled off.
The crappie in there are freaking enormous.

After year 4, I would simply have a policy that any the white perch caught must be kept or killed.

There is your answer. Its about size and room. Think about a man made lake. Its nothing more than a big pond and it works. Like I said, it works in my 4 acre pond

Crappie are super aggressive as fingerlins and young fishes. I know of a pond that is prolly 90% 8-10" crappie.
They took over this little 3 acre pond.
Small beetle spins and an ultralite + beer+ icechest = great day
