Anybody know anyone whose ashes have been spread - or know someone whose spread them - in or over Tiger Stadium? I'm not planning for the future - rather I just wonder how many folks have pulled this off. I imagine the number is well over one hundred. Can't be too hard to do if you're motivated (sans permission).

I doubt anyone who is for real would admit it, but I'm sure a few deceased Tiger fans are....

My dad joked about having this done for him, buuuuuuuuuuuuut dammit I'll try

If I fail time after time or get arrested, I'll just settle for Alex Box. He won't know the difference.

I saw someone doing it several years ago when Fan Day was in Tiger Stadium right in front of everyone

My brother is good friends with one of the guys that maintains field at tiger stadium. He tells lots of stories about different ways people have devised to run out and dump loved ones ashes on field. He said he just let's them do it and then they usually wait until person has run off or is escorted off and then they shop vac ashes up! He says that they always run to 50 yard line to dump. Said ashes would kill grass. They actually have the shop vac always nearby just for the purpose of sucking up ashes!!!

If I ever attempted to pull this off I'd go the minimalist route, as it's foolish to think you'd be able to unload the whole lot on the field. Get on the field however possible and drop a few handfulls slowly and discretely. Then un-arse the stadium and hit other campus spots - tailgating site, Indian mounds, The Bayou, etc.

Yep that would be the way to do it! They have seen just about every way people can come up with. Said it happened all the time. I asked him if anyone tried the "Andy Dufrene "method yet. He laughed and said not yet!

I thought about it while I was in Tigerband, but didn't have the opportunity. (nobody died in my family who wanted it done.)

I would have slowly let out a little at a time while marching PreGame.

I just now thought about this too, but I really don't count on my dad dying within the next three and a half years

I actually told the wife to get up at the top of the stadium, back to the wind and throw them up in the air. Everybody's gonna get a piece of me that day!

My grandfather had some of his left at old Alec Box. He played on the first LSU team to win the SEC title.

TS has been around since 1924. I bet there are dozens of former players whose ashes have been dropped there.

And then there are the fans.

I am catholic and don't believe in cremation. Wonder what kind of TAF donation I have to make to get a headstone behind the North End Zone.

People have done it. I was sitting by a guy at the Box last night who worked for Athletic Facilities from 2002-2008. Said he'd seen a lot of people try.

He also said one guy managed to do it successfully, only to have the field pulled up a week later. His deceased relative's ashes ended up around where the new Tiger Park is. Kinda messed up, but still funny.

I think they resod the field every so often. So you'd wind up in a compose pile sooner OT later!

Put them discretely on the sideline spread out finely over 20 yards, not in a pile. Shop vac that bitches!

I wouldn't suggest doing it. Tiger Stadium won't be there for eternity. Anyone who had their ashes placed at the old Alex Box Stadium now has a new parking lot as their final resting place. Tiger Stadium's day may eventually come too (hopefully not any time soon though).

That's not really the point. They can move the stadium, but that actual piece of land is where the memories are.
