There is another way into Mechant, it just takes a little longer. Go through Jug Lake and take a left instead of a right where you would take a right to head to Lost lake. That will put you through eagle lake and then through goose bay. Probably will cost you 20 minutes but save a potential headache.

Eagle Lake or Lake Pagie? Think I know what route you're talking about, looks like Pagie on google maps...though they are very likely to have it mislabeled.
