Heartworm medicine ($8-$9 a month) $100/year
Food ($65 every 5 weeks or so) - $700/year
Routine Checkups(twice a year if nothing is wrong) - $120/year
Treats (about a bag a week)- $150/year
Toys (2-3 frisbees) - $60/year
Misc (shampoo, etc.) - $80/year
Boarding - Free
Trips to the park (gas) - $120/year
= $1330/year give or take a little.

That's 1/2 of what I pay, assuming you just have one dog. It's 1/5 of what I pay if you have 2 like me.
How is this done?
