Broken bracket on boat trailer

I broke a bracket on my trailer. Its aluminum and Id rather not unlaod my boat and bring it to a welder. Any suggestions on how I can fix it. Any putty or JB Weld type stuff? I drew this illustration to help show what im talking about. This is a view from the back of the trailer (W/o the boat) TIA

that is a nice drawing. take it to a welder or buy a new one if you can. I don't trust that putty stuff for things like that

The boat doesnt touch it when riding and sometimes I can just set the bracket on to of itself and it rides all the way home like that. Dont think I need anything real strong.
Taking it to a welder will be a huge pita. May just get some scrap metal and screw it on as a scab or maybe a 2x4 or something.

Om some trailers you can take the whole side bunk and brackets off with the boat on tge trailer. Have you already scoped that out?

Yea ive never seen a trailer that you couldnt take it off of with the boat on
Hell lots of trailers dont even have em. Theyre just there to help you get the boat on the trailer. They do nothing once its on there.

Exactly. I broke it last year trailering in heavy wind and current. Thats the rare instance where I actually used it. Thats why I was thinking maybe some kind of putty i could just coat it with so it doesnt bounce or move around while driving

I had a similar break last year, except mine was where the bracket connected to the frame. Luckily, my FIL was able to weld it back without having to take the boat off.

You could just bring it to a welder. We jacked our boat up with a floor jack and some strategic pieces of 2x4 and welded it when it happened to us. They might be able to just jack it up off of that spot and work on it
ETA just re read it, I looked at it wrong. Ours are still not set up right Shouldn't be a big deal to take it off and bring it somewhere. Ours are welded to the trailer but I need to cut them and re weld them back in the right spot. Just never got around to it

If its not touching the boat, they will just put something in between it and the boat and it wont hurt the hull to weld it while its loaded. Welders do it all the time around hydraulic lines and such.
