I've been to most places out there, but possibly there are some I've overlooked? Here's my "hit list" so far (BTW, I've been to all of these before, just want to go back)...

Robin's -- Henderson
Frey's Crawfish House -- Jennings
D.I.'s -- Basile
Glenda's -- Breaux Bridge
Suire's Grocery -- Kaplan
Hawk's -- Rayne
Daigle's Sausage Kitchen -- Welsh

Are there any "lesser-known" places that you think I may not have been before?

No expert by any means, but two places I like to hit when I find myself in Midland is the Mowata Stoe in Mowata and Cest Bon in Mermentau. Mowata Stoe for boudin and Cest Bon for berled shrimp. Both are badass.

C'est Bon has good crawfish too. If you find yourself there for lunch and they are doing shrimp and egg stew. ORDER IT!!!

Poche's in Breaux Bridge needs to be on your list too. My favorite boudin on the planet, hands down.

Also, I'm from Welsh. Daigles does a great beef tongue plate lunch on Thursdays

Been to Cafe des Amis many times, always enjoyable.

Also been to Mowata Store and Bubba Frey's.

Never been to C'est Bon. I'll check it out.

No doubt. Boiling those real big shrimp just right and still have them peel easy is a hard thing to do. Those folks got it down pat. Poboys aint bad either..

No, not a doctor. Just love to eat. I know this stuff probably isn't too good for my heart.

I do like the boudin at both Poche's as well as Mowata Store. My favorite is probably T-Jim's in Cottonport. I also really like the smoked boudin at Bergeron's in Port Allen.

Ok, so I'm in Lafayette now. Went to The French Press for brunch. It was OK, but didn't live up to the hype. Our sever was not good at all. Going to C'est Bon in Mermentau tonight.
