Who else enjoyed the Air Force players saluting today?

I thought it was cool as hell. It's hard to imagine that these are America's future warriors seeing them in baseball uniforms, but seeing them salute while in those uniforms was pretty neat.

Yes, I enjoyed that. We sit behind the visitors' dugout and before our game started my dad asked one of the AF players how they'd done in the earlier game against Alcorn. The player said "we won sir". That says it all.

As much as I loved beating the shite out of them, I hated it at the same time.

4-0 considering LSU's massive talent advantage and that they were playing back to back games is hardly a beating.

If you ever have a chance to make a football game in Colorado Springs you'll love it. Way different than Tiger Stadium but the pageantry is just awesome. The squadrons march in about 45 mins before, flyover and multiple flags and the game ball parachute in every time.

I watch the first game and spoke with Del Toro's dad. He flew in from SoCal just for the series. From our conversation I think he missed his kid pitch a solid 2 or 3 innings as he had to catch his flight.

Little info for you - that is a line out of Ray Wiley Hubbard's "things here on earth are cooler than hell" song. He is one of the top songwriters for folk/country songs. His biggest hit was "Up against the wall redneck mother" - which should be the walk out song for about 90% of the posters on the TD Poliboard.

If taken literally, Yes.

But other sayings can't be taken literally either:
Cool as shite
He's the shite
He's the tit
He hit a tater
String music
Threw up a brick
Second sacker
That's just sick
That's just ill
Look at that monkey run
Float like a butterfly
Sting like a bee

You get what i'm saying.

Hell being the theological place of eternal punishment and the abyss of unquenchable flames, also describing the favorable attitude and/or low temperatures would make for an oxymoron.

It's just a saying..If we try to over analyze everything posted here we end writing long and boring posts like this one.

tl/dr:

Never forget when I was a kid my Dad took me to West Point to see Army play.... Just like AFA in Colorado Springs...one of the top memories of being with my dad.... The game was awesome with how the military does things.

Don't forget the falcons performing either pregame or at halftime. At one time, we had the only performing mascot in Div IA football.

Yes, it does. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a softy when it comes to kids in the military. I'm not ashamed to admit that I misted up when the entire team was honored and they went through their "four corners" salute to the fans.

I don't think anyone saw me wipe a tear.....

As a lifelong LSU fan and FB season ticket holder and Air Force Officer I must say this was an event I hated to miss. I have many friends who are AFA alum and I can tell you these kids are a symbol of what is right with America.

I took a girl to her first baseball game Sunday and her brother is in the Air Force. She was floored, and I was too.

Just another reason why baseball is great.

I didn't see you. Something got in my eyes about then and I had to wipe them.
