Imo treble hook baits need a different rod because you're not driving the hook in like when fishing a worm. The hooks grab the fish and you need a rod that's more responsive to the fish's movements.

All of my rods are pretty close to the same. Being able to cast accuratly is by far the most imporant thing to me. I struggle with heavies and medium heavies.
