I disagree that LSU has a largely negative fan base.

I go to every home game and have been for about the last 35 years and am 50 years old. The group I hang out with consists of about 50-60 life time LSU fans and there is some griping and frustration but never any real negativity. And no one ever boos. I am not sure when the booing started but it is totally crazy. We are in the middle of the best LSU football ever. This century has been awesome and we are now one of the top 5 programs in the nation. So I see nothing to gripe about. Jan 9th sucked and should have never happened. I think Miles knows he screwed up.

But that game is over. It is time to move forward. I think we had a great recruiting class filling needs. We are loaded. We didnt have a whole lot of immediate needs. If Mett is the real deal and we start passing a little more with success we will have many great recruiting years to come. I know TL dR

So do I...but if you dont agree with the "chosen," you're automatically labeled a nega-tiger.

Ive been a fan since most of these pukes were schitting in their diapers and wiping it in their hair. But, youre not going to tell them anything. Wastin' ya time!!!

The 5% that are bad fans just talk a lot more where it feels like half our fan-base.

Prime example of ALTERS IMO.

If not there is no way they want the negativity to continue.

I happen to have season tickets in front of some of the most negative assholes in the stadium. Maybe that's why I hate it so much on here.

If LSU doesn't run/pass for 1st down on every play, score on every drive, prevent every 1st down, and shut down every opponent. Two or three guys behind me bitch, moan, scream, and sometimes boo. It's not like that everywhere but the people certainly exist around here.

We have a great fan base.

LSU has become a consistant national football power cause of our fans and not inspite of them.

We have 123 wins since 2000, 2nd only to Oklahoma among BCS schools and we have 3 BCSCG appearances which is 2nd only to Oklahoma.

All of the elite success is due to the efforts of our fans, players, and coaches.

Others can piss and moan all they want, but I'm one freaking happy camper who hopes this LSU football high never ends.

Can anybody tell me who gets to decide which ranters/fans are good ones, and which are bad? And why? Because day to day, there is more bickering between "sides" here than you'd find in a henhouse full of wet chickens. Some of us would choke before admitting *CLM choked on 1/9. Some of us would take a beating before giving *CLM credit for LSU being 13-0 going into the BCS game for the Bama Mulligan Bowl. Some of us are right but sometimes we are wrong. We might disagree. But nobody needs to name other Ranters as "bad" fans. We're all just fans, doing what fans do. So how about giving it a rest.

You might not be negative but the portion of the fan base that post on this website are highly negative. I don't know what percentage that would be but they are very vocal and very negative and give a very bad impression to many recruits. It surprises me the people that can be so negative about everything on here and then get offended that someone will call them out on being negative. You are what you are so own up to it and accept any consequences because of it. At least have some backbone about yourself.

Post 2003, the LSU fan base has taken a downward turn.

Most have no ties to LSU other than being a random fan and have to much access to the internet. It is what it is and is associated with success.

I remember being a student in 1997, waiting in line overnight for Independence Bowl, and being pumped about it. Through all negativity of the fan base, I still prefer the success we have now.

LSU is no different than any other big time football fanbase. sometimes i wonder if the people who continually attack the fans have ever read another team's message board or listened to an out of state radio show.

LSU has some of the most douche bag, whiny arse fans in all of sports. I don't think it's a majority in any way, but damn, we have a ton...and they all think they have to be a bigger dickhead than the previous guy, so they can get above clutter of FB and the message boards. I just don't get running to the Internet to wail and gnash my teeth the way some of you do. I don't care why you think you're right, or how much you think you know, eating your own the way some fans do doesn't make you better/more passionate/more knowledgeable fans. When you try to justify why you think you could/should rip your own team, you're part of the problem.

Meh. The minority is VERY vocal.

But I've noticed myself even being more and more negative about it. These people rub off on you

Lots of trolling in this thread by miles' tigerdroppings e-knights. Why you guys feel compelled to jump in on any fricking thread where it looks like everyday fans are venting their frustrations for whatever it is and whine? Just let it go or go start your own damn thread.

At 55 years of age, I agree with you as I experience the same. This board is good, but to believe that it represents LSU fans as a whole is misleading. The future is bright and I can't wait to see what next year and the years after have in store for this Damn Strong Football Team.

i think this has the most to do with it.

your appreciation is probably greater for seeing the program from where it was, to where it is. plus you've seen other programs in college football succeed then falter. so you probably appreciate the moment more than people that caught attention in 03.

plus some people just voice their opinions more than others, which is very easy to do here. cause if youre proved wrong you cant just get off for the night and wait for a thread the next morning.
