He would flourish in our system but he is too much of a drama queen and older than Colston with tons of injuries. Not worth signing to a long term deal.

I would LIKE to have him, but he's been looking for a big contract. He's gonna get one from someone.

How are we supposed to afford VJ if we can't afford Colton?

Exactly. If Colston walks, don't count on us bringing in another big name receiver who will demand a big payday.

Even if Colston walks, i would rather see the money used to lock up our current players.

Yup. I do think that if Colston walks, we are very shaky at WR and it will hurt big time.

If Colston doesn't re-sign, I expect the Saints to try to get another WR in the draft, not in FA.

As do I. I just wish we had a 1st, so we could address DL/LB then and possibly use our 2nd on a WR.

The City of Colton was formally founded in 1875 and incorporated in 1887 but its history goes back to the 1770's when several explorers from Mexico searched routes from Sonora, Mexico to Monterey, bringing the first Europeans to the Colton area. Prior to this time, the area was inhabited by the Gua-chama, Seranno and San Gorgonio Indians.

By 1840 Colton was part of two large privately owned ranchos, the Jurupa and the San Bernardino Ranchos. The southwest section of Colton is referred to as Agua Mansa (“Gentle Waters”); the area settled by New Mexico Pioneers in 1842.

The town of Colton was laid out when the Southern Pacific Railway was constructed through the valley on its way eastward from Los Angeles in 1875. Colton was named for Civil War General David Colton who was also Vice President of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company.

We desperately need to lock Brees up quickly so that we can focus on re-signing Nicks or Colston ASAP and franchise the other. Super Bowl in NOLA or bust next year.

But more along the lines of the OP, how would the Saints afford VJ if they can't afford Colston?

VJ, not worth the money, or the gamble. If we can't resign Colston we'll draft/ sign a younger guy.

To Mouth:

I think all three of us are tied for votes at the moment. May the best man win.
