to ensure the top 3 players in the state signed with LSU?

I'm not being a smartass or anything because I think it's a legit question. You can't MAKE a kid decide on what school he wants to go play ball.

If you were to buy a home, don't you shop around? What about a car? If there's a car that costs 5k more than the same car on another lot, can a salesman convince you to buy the more expensive vehicle? What would he have to do?

Not much. LC has been set on Bama for 2 years now. Not even his mother could change his mind.

Davis flipped on NSD. Not much the coaches can to about that.

1) Produce a hotter, more slutty gf for one.

2) Not sign 10 other LBs for another guy.

3) Davis was the shocker. No reason to choose UT right now.

You can't blame a safety for wanting to go to bama. Devall was never going to work here, and if people have been paying attention, Davis to Texas should not be a shocker. I would bet my membership that the staff knew Davis was going to Texas.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out why Collins went to Bama. There's absolutely nothing Bama can offer that LSU can't....except once particular girl.

Outside the NCG!

That is like asking Mrs Lincoln if she enjoyed the play.

I think everyone wanted to see LSU go down swinging, even if it meant we lose 35-0.

i dont know and neither does anyone on here. none of us are college recruiters

but they make a lot of money and sometimes they just have to make something happen. thats vague, but thats how it is

and the NC game was a pretty fricking huge factor they did have control of

So Devall would have signed with LSU if they hadn't signed extra LBs? LOL.

I think the clouds that hung around the program and turned into rumors that hurt the program could have been cleared up much sooner had our coaching staff done better PR and damage control, taken adult responsibility and not blamed poor execution, and actually came out and said that they really screwed up in not giving Lee a chance in a losing situation.

Failure to live up to reality is not lost on recruits like Davis, Kiel and near commits like Howards & Edwards.

Prom..In some cases nothing. But in this one, losing Colins, Duvall and Davis might have happened anyway. But, next years class saw the miserable showing in the SECCG and the NC. Will they be adversly effected? I think not if Miles and Co get there collective asses in gear and have a great showing next year. This is a good not great class but you cannot let the best in La go to Alabama and Texas and it not hurt down the road. The 2013 class will be very good and the '14 class maybe even better and we cannot let 3 of the top 5 leave again.

Davis was probably the only one who could have been swayed into staying.

DD wanted to play in 3-4. Chavis aint changing his system.

LC - Lure of the pussy was just too much to overcome

Again I dont know what went on behind the scenes with Davis. Who knows if it was a genuine change of heart or if it was all pre planned.

Davis would be here had we won the game, or even played them close enough to give us a shot to win the game.

Sorry pro it can't be argued that we don't have 1 too many guys on this staff that aren't pulling their fair share of weight on the recruiting trail. Our top guys are too spread out

With the 3 lost, nothing. They did all they could outside of illegal activity. Devall wanted to play LB. Collins is much discussed and Davis was being pulled away by those close to him. I really don't get the meltdown regarding those 3. Disappointment, sure I can understand that, but not the sky is falling and our staff needs to be rebuilt.

The NC game had nothing to do with these 3. Davis is the only one that can even be considered as a possibility. Devall wasn't high on LSU at anytime and he and Collins both commited before the game. It's a copout argument and an excuse for the negatigers to start in with their shite.

I don't think that can be verified, but if that really is his rationale, it's really poor reasoning.

Recruits never pick a school based on one game, IMO. No matter the magnitude.

That, I won't argue. That's why I think Adam Henry is a TERRIFIC hire. He's going to hit Texas and he will land some good players. Watch and see.

But as far as the topic of the thread, people are wigging out over things that just can't be decided by no one other than the kid.

How can people sit there and blame a coaching staff? They think they just slow played these kids as if they were LSU all along? Think they just half-assed it and didn't do their job?

Hard to believe and losing out on these kids isn't that huge of a deal that people are making it out to be. People can argue until their blue in the face but good players will always want to go to LSU. Period. LSU will land good players. They always have.

Once rivals isn't fricking up and not letting me look at past classes, I'm going to pull up and see the average ranking of the starters in '11.

Talk about the girl all you want, but saban coaches safety's better then anyone, maybe not CB's, but safety's? Yes.

The girl obviously played a role, but him going there is not a bad desicion at all from a football standpoint.

We have had 2 number 1 safety's since miles has been here, chad jones and Craig loston.

Jones 3rd round, loston has done nothing. Injuries and such not withstanding, it still is what it is
