Namath's position as a historical sports figure (legitimizing the AFL) is warranted in the pantheon. But his ranking as an all-time QB (and I'm speaking as a Bama fan), like everything else in/from New York, is way overrated.

I didn't realize how fast he was and what a great all round athlete he was before his knee went out.
