How many of you guys have taken a class or classes for firearms training. I've shot guns my whole life and I'm comfortable with them. Outside of mental ideas of how things would happen or what I'd do in the event of needing my gun in a defense situation, I got nothing. I want to take my CCW class first and then take some training classes on how to better defend my family. Just wondering if anybody has dones this.

Just get a Judge. Don't need no damn classes if you have a Judge. They defy all rules of firearms anyway.

It would be fun to take a course with the popup targets. I would end up shooting all the good guys

I'm afraid of owning a judge. The fear of having it turn on me and destroy the world is too great.

I think it would be a great way to make a living. but the liability insurance would be a bitch due to the risk of somebody getting shot.

Yeah, that and govt regs are why I hadn't put the idea in motion yet.

Ive taken multiple classes on different firearms. Anywhere from pistol, rifle, carbine, and ccw. I look at it as continuing education.

VATA is local around here and those guys have been there and done it. They know how to shoot and are great at teaching it back to novices.

Taking classes will open your eyes about your gear and your weapon. If you thought you knew how to shoot, take a class and be amazed.

Thats what I'm hoping for. I've heard alot of great things about VATA, but I'm in Shreveport area. How much does the usual class run?

I like Bleeding Purple too. Lost his lease, and TD account within one week. That sucks.

I know it is a drive, but there are a number of places in the Daalas area. Train, train and train some more.

As for opening a range, the largest cost is the HVAC and insurance. You are looking at +/- $15,000 a lane for the initial set up, plus the monthly cleaning. We are very close to opening one in Houston and the initial costs are staggering.
