How good of a QB is he. Has anyone seen him play in high school? Could he be anything more than a scout team QB. Thanks.

He's expected to beat out Mettenberger in the spring.

I haven't seen him play other than HS film, but I'd say that if he's ever seeing meaningful snaps, then we're in a WORLD of trouble!

He has just finished his red shirt year I am pretty sure. Not sure if he was on the baseball team or not. I would take Hatch with a better arm. Hatch had some wheels on him.

I think they gave him a preferred walk-on status. I would agree that if it comes to that then we are in trouble. I think he is a good athlete and has a decent arm but not really an SEC QB.

I saw him play in HS and the kid can play. He's only about 6' and a small frame but a good athlete. Nice arm, not great. I thought he would choose the baseball route because he was probably a better baseball player than FB player in HS.

They kid can really put a zip on the ball. I don't see him playing any this year, but could be a very good back up in the years to come.

Coach PM mentione his name as a newcomer to the baseball team last week. I wonder if he will stick with that or go through spring football practice. What position does he play in baseball?

Neither was Jordan Jefferson, but that didn't stop Les from playing him.

and i went to high school with jared at barbe, got to see all of his games junior and senior year.

in high school: had a pretty sweet arm, could find the open receiver and get rid of the ball quickly. could also roll out and use his white boy wheels.

he would also get rattled against very good pressure. specifically remember him throwing his arms and helmet around in frustration after a few failed drives against evangel christian. we lost that game

i also remember thinking we were fricked for a little while junior year when he broke a collarbone, but he came back from that very healthy.

that being said, i seriously doubt he'll ever see any meaningful snaps, if he stays on the football team at all. i loved watching the guy play, but there are very few who have the abilities to successfully compete in the SEC, and he just isn't one of them.

never watched him in baseball, but i do see he's on the team. best wishes to him there
