War Horse was great...my date really liked it. Mission Impossible and Sherlock Holmes were good also. Contraband was...meh...but it was filmed in New Orleans.

If I wasn't going to see TGWtDT, I'd see War Horse. I haven't seen either but that would be my order. War Horse might make them cry. It's long though so if you're wanting to do something after besides the no pants dance you might see something else.

The Grey
Man on Ledge wasn't even screened from what I hear.

The only answer to this is The Grey.
Badass movie. Major badass.

The Grey is great but I'm not sure about it for a first date. My wife hated it.

You are going on a first date but you are married?
You dirty dog.

I dunno if i was going on a date with some girls I would probably go see Contraband or Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
They might prefer that than any of the more serious films out right now.

The Decendents looks like a pretty good date movie.

A girlfriend of mine said it was super sad so I wouldn't go with this one.
Do something easy like Mission Impossible. It's decent enough that you'll like it, and the chicks I know that have seen it thought it was pretty good.

I watched The Descendants tonight and I LOVED it. Definitely a minimum rating of 8/10.
That movie is real, real sad though. My eyes got real teary several times throughout the film. I highly recommend it. I normally find any little flaw in movies but this one was flawless. All praise from this guy
George Clooney is fantastic in this movie.

The Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It's technically a romantic comedy, and you can play the "Oh I loved this as a kid" card.
