Did a search and didn't turn anything up. Buddy of mine showed this to me the other day and felt like I needed to share. Can't remember a movie I was looking forward to more than this one. Here's the trailer:
Eta: literally just saw a trailer for it for the first time on tv during the game but the one linked is better IMO.

That movie looks really really bad arse. Especially while I'm in the middle of reading Chris Kyle's book:
American Sniper

The fact they're using active duty SEALs makes it even more badass and authentic. The website has a video on the making of it that's pretty interesting too:

I will be purchasing this. Is it pretty graphic? How does he go about disclosing details?

I can't fvcking wait for this movie

It is different. He is not a polished writer so the flow of the book is not what you would expect. However, the way he breaks down time in combat and time home/experiences are good reading. Especially if you have a friend or relative that has been in combat. Some of the writing is from his wife's perspective. I'm about a third of the way through and it has not been graphic thus far. Different, but a very good read. Also a very good look into the true Warrior mentality.

Thanks for the link to the official site. That is some good stuff.

Looks awesome and I can't wait to see it. My dad works with a guy who's son and his platoon are in most of the movie. Apparently alot of it was filmed on the Pearl River.

I could not possibly be more excited for a movie than this. The song in the trailer gives me chills. I wish I could be half the man these guys are, I read one of the guys is 180 lbs and carried another SEAL in full PPE after being shot. I couldn't imagine being that skinny and pulling that off.

The making of video on the website also shows them going through what one SEAL said was "4,000 rounds of live ammo." I don't know that there's ever been a movie that used live ammo like that. I guess I could google it, but I'm feeling especially lazy this morning.

As awesome as that is, what's the point?

My son's team is in it during the rivierine scenes. It was filmed by the Bandito Bros out in the Pearl River Swamps by the NASA Stennis Ctr.
You see my son very briefly during the trailer. He is driving one of the boats and is one of the operators coming up out of the water.

I cant post a link but go to the Bandido Brothers website and look up the short form video titled
"I am that man"
My sons team is also in that as well as the trailer to the movie.

My son is in the top pick on the right firing his weapon. The other is a pic of his boat team. He is the one driving. He has been in over eight years now. He got to meet Prez Bush after his first mission in Somalia.

My guess is that they wanted to have the tracers on film to make it more realistic

Is this the one with Charlie Sheen?
Posted on 2/23/12 at 11:40 am to 4nmylifetime
GTFO
and they used live ammunition because they can, and no one is going to tell them no. Unlike Charlie Sheen, they are actually qualified to handle the equipment (ammo included.)
and yes, I know you were joking. Not flaming...
